ATF Form 4473 (background check) asks:

Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance? Warning: The use or possession of marijuana remains unlawful under Federal law regardless of whether it has been legalized or decriminalized for medicinal or recreational purposes in the state where you reside.

Marijuana use and possession is a technicality no one, not even the ATF, gave much of a fuck about. I think this case goes to the administration. Sorry, but if a judge has to interpret this thing, the guy broke the law.

What the administration is not seeing is that this could round up a shitload of white rednecks and conservatives, many of whom are single-issue voters or related to such people. (Disclosure: I'm a gun nut that votes D, no matter what.) "They put my boy in federal prison for smoking pot and having a .22 squirrel rifle!" OTOH, we know this will be selectively enforced.

Interesting note on the next question:

Have you ever been adjudicated as a mental defective OR have you ever been committed to a mental institution?

The never ending trans drumbeat around here is preaching to the choir, but I should note that this administration will be aiming to class transsexuality as a mental disorder. They did not miss the fact that LGBT, blacks and women have been the largest gun purchasing demographic since Trump 1.0. (Haven't kept up with the stats, correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe it's "first time buyers"?)

Love to see how the, "Under no pretext!" gang fields this one. From what I've seen on GunTuber channels, they're pissed off at the notion of taking trans guns.
