The fuck do you expect us to do? Most of us are one missed paycheck away from homelessness.

Do what you can to fight back. Trying to survive is how they want you kept busy. Stop buying consumerist things. Stop shopping at Walmart and target and Amazon. Join community groups. Vote. Attend rallies.

You personally may already do that bit most don't. Union membership is down globally. Big tech is taking control and hasn't had a useful product in a generation.

How do you propose we get a significant amount of people to do that? Hell, there's a lot of places where Walmart might be the only choice, and if there is another choice it's Dollar General, which is in some ways even worse than Walmart.

I can't even really afford "consumerist things" (whatever that means, in my house we're barely treading water with just the essentials at this point.

Something tells me the people who participated in the Civil Rights Movement weren't exactly swimming in money either.

Protests have been going on non-stop since day one of the administration.

These "protests" are almost all weekend parades. If the Civil Rights Movement was like this it would've ended up a footnote in history. You should look up what MLK and crew actually did to get where they ended up. And of course, the Civil Rights Movement did employ wasn't as peaceful as the textbooks would have you believe. So I guess what I want to say is: Do what MLK did then you can say you tried.

Yes, let's riot under an administration that's itching to call for nation wide marshal law.

You don't live here, do you? If that's the case, then I forgive your ignorance on the situation we're in. Otherwise, what are you doing?

I don't, in fact, live in America, but also the problem here is that your democracy has no future unless you do something. The time where this could be resolved without significant personal risk is long past. If you think the risk of regime retaliation is worse than the risk of living under MAGA for the next two decades, then sure, but know that those are the options you're looking at here.

I don't think you understand the likelihood of what you want resulting in our deaths. They've already killed numerous protesters. I live 1,100 Miles from DC. Hell, the closest real city is a hundred miles from me. I feel like you don't understand the size and how spread out the country is. You seem to have this idea that we can just flip the do something switch and things magically happen.

You want to believe that you're just better than us and that it can't happen in your country, when it has likely already begun.

So you're choosing option 2. In that case better look up how to avoid being disappeared by an authoritarian regime.

You want to believe that you're just better than us and that it can't happen in your country, when it has likely already begun.

No, the opposite in fact. My country is already by an authoritarian regime, and it's seriously not a fun experience.

    So you're choosing option 2.

It's not an option if you don't really have a choice.

My country is already by an authoritarian regime, and it's seriously not a fun experience.

And what are you doing about that?

stop voting for corporate dems. Do not do "Vote Blue No Matter Who", stop parroting the illusion of lesser evil (that makes sure the GOP comes back every time).

Clean out the Democratic leadership. If you need to understand how this works, look at the Tea Party and the GOP.

    restoring some sanity

    Yeah, that's a 2010 Jon Stewart rally.

You're literally trying the same failed tactics as 15 years ago.

It's hilarious that you think somehow it's impossible to claim even the Democratic Party, but you're somehow going to change the country.

I didn't claim any such thing. I agree that voting for farther left candidates in the primaries is important, but to abstain from voting for Democrats at all is just downright stupid and I think you know that.

I didn't say don't vote for Democrats at all.

I say don't vote for any that aren't progressives if the progressive loses the primary. Punish the party for attempting to push right - the same way the "moderates" (neo-liberals) do with the left.
