This is 100% true.

Official French language test demands you call it "le fin du semaine". Meanwhile every single Quebecer and New Brunswicker calls it "le weekend".

    In Quebec it depends. In Montreal people say weekend, but in Quebec city they say "la fin de semaine". I pretty much think it's fin de semaine in most regions too. It's just that the Montreal metropolitan area is half the population.

    I personally heard a lot of french people say weekend too, not fin de semaine.
