But where are you getting that this person is a Nazi? I don't know anything about them other than their work on the PT port. Edit: I've seen some others claim that the dev is fascist-aligned in random livestream chats too, but no one is able to share sources there. Please share if you have a source on this. I would genuinely like to know. Edit again: Never mind. I see that other commenters have provided screenshots from this "person's" social media posts stating that they hate Jewish people. I'd say that's pretty conclusive evidence that they're a Nazi. Fuck that. permalink fedilink source parent [–] iamthetot@piefed.ca 2 points 1 week ago (2 children) Don't dehumanize Nazis. That's literally that they do. It's important to acknowledge they are human. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] trevor@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 week ago (1 child) If you're saying that it's important to remember that no one is born fascist, and therefore anyone can become one if they choose to, then I agree. However, fascists abandoned their humanity to become what they are. Just because they are incorrect to dehumanize others, that does not mean that we need to ignore that they dehumanized themselves. They can choose to re-humanize themselves at any time by adopting humanity into their ethics and politics. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago It's also important to remember that when we dehumanize them it gives them some added rhetorical ground. The ability to say "see I'm not a nazi, I'm just an ordinary person [to you], not some sort of subhuman monster". They have surrendered their souls and are unwilling to try to claw them back, but it is worth keeping in mind the ways they'll try to use our rhetoric to weasel their way into acceptability in orher people's eyes permalink fedilink source parent
