You know, I never understood why this guy had a mask with a picture of the female reproductive system on it.

"Never compromise, even in the face of armageddon. That's always been the difference between us Daniel."

"Suddenly you discover humanity? Convenient. If you'd cared from the start, none of this would've happened. "

It’s where they have tasteful sophisticated shows like All My Crumpets and Next Top Teabag.

[–] musubibreakfast@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago

Personally I'm more of a fan of The Morechebs and Wise show.

Ozymandias was an idiot. He pushed the world to the brink of nuclear war and then caused a massive explosion in New York under the assumption that the US government would calmly and methodically investigate the wreckage instead of just assuming that the war had already started and launching a counterattack. The only reason his plan worked was because he was a fictional character in a story who's author was as big of an idiot as he was.

[–] scutiger@lemmy.world 21 points 7 hours ago

In the movie it was a nuclear explosion made to look like Dr Manhattan caused it. In the comic book, it was an alien invasion that brought humanity together.

The TV series follows the comic's premise and ignores the events of the movie.

Rorschach and Tyler Durden are both personal heroes of mine.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 9 points 11 hours ago

I identify more with The Narrator (Edward Norton) than Tyler. Ain't that right, Ty?

turns to face an empty seat

[–] FuyuhikoDate@feddit.org 9 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Phew... I can understand Tylor durdon... But Rorschach? He is a fuckin Hippocrate even if it was right what he did int he end.

chortles

No I mean standing up for his principles, instead accepting Ozys Plan

[–] abbotsbury@lemmy.world 6 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

His principles were bullshit though, which is why even though he had the chance to completely unravel Ozymandias' plan, it will likely be completely ignored because he sent all his journals to a white nationalist tabloid rag.

[–] FuyuhikoDate@feddit.org 1 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Totally forgot about that fact.

But yeah that why i meant he is a Hippocrate, because he only think black and white and therefore always saw a lawful reason in all his actions.

Think i need to reread that comic. There is a lot I forgot and the first time i was already be like "damn I gonna need to read that again!"

[–] agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works 3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I don't think he was an ancient Greek doctor
