Fucking Jesus Christ 🤦‍♂️ they'll probably get it too

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 3 points 3 hours ago

Settlement for $500million and a sincere presidential appo....$500million, coming right up!

[–] StoneyPicton@lemmy.ca 99 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I'm not one for conspiracy theories but I do look at as many angles as I can think of. This seems like a perfect opportunity to settle out of court and thus funnel millions of tax dollars to a militia that will serve trump to the end.

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 56 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (2 children)

I'm 100% convinced these Nazi militias make up the majority of the "ICE agents" we're seeing. That's why they don't identify themselves. These fuckers deserve anything they get.

[–] dinren@discuss.online 19 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Which is hopefully handfuls of lead.

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works -2 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago) (1 children)

Oh, no need to wonder - liberals have successfully convinced themselves that disarming themselves is the answer.

[–] dinren@discuss.online 7 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

Pretty sure disarming everyone was the answer. But I don’t see gun enthusiasts stepping up to stop fascism, so looks like gun aren’t a part of it.

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 hour ago

It's an answer for anyone that's unwilling to accept reality as it is, but sure.

Fucking brown shirt bootlickers

I know I'm commenting from different country, but the following quote by a judge in Australia is always worth keeping in the back of your head if you manage to get let off a serious crime...

Having escaped the lion’s den, Mr Lehrmann made the mistake of coming back for his hat

That was a line said by a judge in Australia during his conclusion of a very high profile rape case.

The story,

Bruce Lehrmann faced charges of rape. This case was very big in Australia because the rape occurred in an office at Parliament House and the government covered it up because there was an election coming up.

The criminal trial was abandoned because the case was having a very detrimental effect on the victim's mental health.

Later, Bruce Lehrmann sued a number of journalists for defamation... And lost... So now Bruce Lehrmann is forever branded a rapist. The judge delivered the above quote during his final decision.

While I love that scenario, I think the likelier outcome in this case is that a lot of taxpayer money goes straight towards energising brownshirts.

[–] blattrules@lemmy.world 30 points 8 hours ago (3 children)

I’m not for capital punishment, but they should have just killed these guys.

[–] Wahots@pawb.social 1 points 3 minutes ago

I would have settled for them being deported to South Sudan.

[–] Initiateofthevoid@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

You remove them by putting them in jail. Allowing capital punishment for anyone inevitably allows it for innocents. It is a weapon of the state, and should not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The problem wasn't the incarceration of Proud Boys, it was the lack of incarceration for the fascists who enabled them.

[–] Soulg@ani.social 6 points 3 hours ago

And also said fascists just letting all of those criminals out of jail early

[–] LemmyIsReddit2Point0@lemmy.world 6 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

That would make them a martyr and just cause more turds to float to the surface so we can fill even more ditches. Sounds like a good plan.

[–] GiuseppeAndTheYeti@midwest.social 12 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, let's just keep taking the moral high road. Eventually shitty people will just stop existing. There's no reason to actively work on removing them. 🥴

Shit will keep flowing into a sewage treatment plant if you don't treat the sewage. In the end you just end up with a mountain of shit to deal with and the problem is much more difficult to manage.

[–] LemmyIsReddit2Point0@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah dealing with these people was my point. I'm not sure why I'm getting downvoted for saying the same thing as you.

Oh that's right ::gestures to my username::

[–] GiuseppeAndTheYeti@midwest.social 3 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

I think it's moreso that people misunderstand what you're implying. That making them "martyrs" is a good thing to help identify more pieces of shit that rally behind their martyrdom.

[–] LemmyIsReddit2Point0@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

It is. If you aren't explicit you are malicious just in case. It's just weird that I wasn't being sarcastic and people took it that way, but when I'm sarcastic without tags people take it literally.

I go through phases of recoiling and isolating and like an idiot I poke my head back in to realize everyone has gotten worse. I'm an idiot.

[–] dinren@discuss.online 6 points 8 hours ago

Make America flush turds again

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 45 points 9 hours ago

Fucking traitors. And it’s up to us to impose justice on them.

[–] kruhmaster@sh.itjust.works 83 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Aren't they working for ICE now? I'm so confused

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 55 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Trump will make the government pay it and they'll still have their ICE jobs

[–] entwine413@lemm.ee 3 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

I kinda doubt that one. Trump isn't going to make the government pay unless it's going into his own pockets or directly benefiting him.

[–] unmagical@lemmy.ml 14 points 8 hours ago

Peddling funds to an armed "militia" that has already proven to be ready to kill for him does directly benefit Trump.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

A loyal militia wouldn't benefit him?

[–] MyOpinion@lemmy.today 24 points 9 hours ago

Can we send them to El Salvador when they come to court like we are doing with other poor people?

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 9 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Don’t you have to admit guilt to receive a pardon?

[–] RhondaSandTits@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 6 hours ago

That's been the general understanding but may not be true. Up until 2016, America has relied on the government respecting the conventional way a lot of things are done. But there have been the occasional deviation.

It was controversial when Ford pardoned Nixon for not specifying what he was being pardoned for.

Last year Biden pardoned his son to protect him from possible persecution by a future government, also controversial.

Who knows, maybe Trump will shit out a tweet tomorrow declaring these idiots are completely innocent of any crime. Any challenge to that would need to be heard by the Supreme Court. Would the current Supreme Court intervene, I doubt it.

Your simple, one sentence question had given me way too much to think about.

[–] RedditIsDeddit@lemmy.world 18 points 9 hours ago (1 children)
[–] Chozo@fedia.io 18 points 9 hours ago

I just checked with my attorneys, Smith & Wesson Esq., and they say yes.

[–] hemmes@lemmy.world 7 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Man, they could’ve just taken the already corrupt pardon but, no, let’s keep fucking around to find out.

[–] Bristlecone@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Just leave off the "find out" part, since anyone with Trump loyalty is untouchable. I think Trump would love to give the proud removed a bunch of money

[–] ryedaft@sh.itjust.works 9 points 9 hours ago

I like to think I'm not a violent man but

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 8 points 9 hours ago

Wait, what?

[–] Crackhappy@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

Make Trump pay for it.

[–] Darleys_Brew@lemmy.ml 1 points 8 hours ago

With that administration, they’ll succeed.
