The horror when a post is not just a circlejerk but people are having conversations.
yeh but my first instinct is "oh god 70 people left a comment but 40 upvoted they really must have hated it" lol
But the huge number of comments is because of just two people arguing for hours.

The voices in my head are entirely based on the PFP that displays next to a post/comment. If your avatar is Spongebob, everything I read from you will be in Spongebob's voice.

My community has like, seven people in it so if I get twelve things are exciting.
Depends on the context meme? No. Interesting Post? Absolutely.
How many times do 11 people tell you they liked something you did IRL? 12 upvotes is still a lot.
Regularly but I'm a musician. I may not have heard it said explicitly, but they usually walk out humming whatever I played and that counts double.
I'm so glad to not be on other social media anymore. Posting on Facebook and having no engagement from the people you actually know and care about hurt a lot more than having a comment on Lemmy get ignored.
I have a dear friend who got pranked by someone. They set his Facebook posting options to post only at me and he didn't notice for a couple years. He just wondered why no one else commented on his posts.
We've both got slightly oversized egos relative to our accomplishments, so that must have been rough.
Whoa, that's so mean. I'm glad it was finally realized, did he ever discover who did that? I hope he's doing okay now.
I wish it would be as socially easy to vocally approve or encourage someone as it is to put a like.
I strongly believe people would be surprised.
