Albert Einstein was 100% correct. I am ashamed of the politicians in Germany who fail to learn the lessons from WWII.

Israel has nukes - what about that Non-proliferation treaty Germany?

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 6 points 17 hours ago

Worse hypocrisy than "Russia has no right to defend itself". Prior to US led nazi coup in 2014, Russia and Ukraine had close economic/political ties, even as supposed Russian stooge President was exploring in good faith EU membership. Coup was designed to sabotage that relationship, with direct NATO/nazi threats to Russia.

Israel's relationship with neighbours and Iran has never been defensive. Europe's rulers always siding with US empire, even as US attacks it, is deeply traitorous. JCPOA process, appears to be the same EU deception as Minsk accords or 2 state solution Norway/Camp David BS. Germany, specifically has no chill between nazi and zionazi extremes.

France, Germany, the US, and UK are all issuing official statements in full support of Israel's attack, and the US is moving some naval vessels to the ME to defend its little brother. Only China and Russia are going to oppose them on the UN security council.

How's it going "enlightened democracies"?

None of them want Iran to have nuclear weapons. They are probably fine with Israel doing the dirty work.

Countries allowed to have nuclear weapons (or energy) check:

[–] hobovision@lemm.ee 26 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Countries allowed to have nukes:

  • countries that already have them
  • countries that make them before someone stops them

Don't forget China, India, and Pakistan all have nukes.

We all know which countries are the real threat to peace and prosperity.

"If we support Israel with their very own holocaust we'll be even for what we did right?"

[–] sik0fewl@lemmy.ca 21 points 1 day ago

Two Holocausts don't make a right.

Politicians when they were asked much earlier (last year?) about unprovoked Israeli attacks on Iran:

"Does Israel have a right to defend itself?"

"Yes"

"Does every country have a right to defend themselves?"

"Yes"

"Does Iran have a right to defend itself?"

"This is a very complex issue, and Israel has a right to defend itself"

If I were from the global South I'd pretend Western countries don't even exist and just work with China, which I'm glad to say it looks like Africa is doing just that. Africa has had some awesome leaders honestly (who France and America are desperately trying to overthrow).

germany, consistently on the side of genocide.

The GDR (East Germany) formally recognized the state of Palestine and never had diplomatic relations with Israel. They also had military coordination with the PLO and supplied arms to Syria during the October 1973 war

In 2023, Germany said: “Confronted with an openly aggressive Russia, the importance of nuclear deterrence has increased for many states, including for [Germany].

Germany is one of five NATO members to host US nuclear weapons on its territory as part of a nuclear-sharing agreement. The German air force is assigned approximately 15 B61 nuclear bombs, which are deployed at the Büchel air base.

In 2016, Germany voted against the UN General Assembly resolution that established the formal mandate for states to commence negotiations on “a legally binding instrument to prohibit nuclear weapons, leading towards their total elimination”.

Germany: Nuclear weapons are good actually

Also Germany: Ban nuclear power return to burning coal

Guess they don't like nuclear if it doesn't involve killing people

[–] Xavienth@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 1 day ago

(West) Germany never stopped being in favour of killing people.

[–] flandish@lemmy.world 31 points 1 day ago

Fuck Germany for this and fuck Israel.

[–] frogbellyratbone_@hexbear.net 32 points 1 day ago (2 children)

it's like ok ok ok european gov'ts don't care about genocide because they're bloodthirsty lunatics ok ok ok whatever but ok

but ffs what about their finances/economy? germany/others are already fucked because they got cut off from russian gas. imagine iran shuts down the strait of hormuz? europe is going to be fucked

how they are not screaming for jewish supremacists to fuck off is beyond me.

and all of this is only to further get europe addicted to US shale. it's all so apparent and insane how do these idiots in power not see this?

Iran is illegally building a nuclear weapon for illegal self defense and Israel is doing a Jack Bauer to stop them.

Obviously, Germany - a country with a long and storied history of liberal democratic values and anti-war principles - will come down on the right side of this conflict. There's no way they'd just align with a Middle Eastern Imperialist power looking to dominate and ethically cleanse a region of its native people.

Didn't click on the link but based on the last 8 years, anything Macron says has a strong probability of being dogshit made to sound plausible and appealing to the end user.
We had chatgpt as president before chatgpt was the hype.
So whatever he wrote on the nazi social network, take it with a huge pinch of salt.
