A South Carolina Republican lawmaker — who once preached about the importance of safeguarding children from unnecessary harm — is accused of distributing more than 200 files of child pornography online while using the screen name “joebidennnn69,” federal prosecutors alleged.

Robert “RJ” May, 38, a member of the House of Representatives in the Palmetto State, was arrested at his Lexington County home Wednesday on a 10-count indictment charging him with distributing child sex abuse material, court documents showed.

The married father of two used “joebidennnn69” and several other user names to exchange 220 obscene files containing extremely graphic footage of children and toddlers engaged in sex acts on the messaging app Kik over five days last spring, federal prosecutors alleged.

Circus shit. Dude used multiple names but the headline is Biden and they even have a picture of him. Plus this rag hijacks my back button so it's harder to come back to Lemmy on my phone.

Also:

May allegedly kept several videos of himself on trips to Colombia engaging in sex with three women who appeared to be underage and were paid, a DHS official testified.

Underageeeddd woomeennn

that's what the entire party is about, They had an entire island for it, now they have entire countries for it.

[–] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.world 10 points 10 hours ago

Is that what Republicans mean when they say "Think of the children?"

[–] frozenpopsicle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 31 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I like that they included a picture of Biden. Him having the same name as the guys username really makes a meaningful connection. I had forgotten what biden looks like. /s

Before attributing to malice, remember it could just be ai generated

[–] SwingingTheLamp@midwest.social 8 points 11 hours ago

It's the New York Post, though. 100% intentional.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 10 hours ago

Ha is that the new saying? Appropriate.

[–] wildcardology@lemmy.world 6 points 14 hours ago

How about the users he distributed to?

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 22 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

Ugh. I dont say this often, but I make an exception for pedos getting caught:

Yay for law enforcement catching this guy and I hope he is sentenced to the longest prison term the law can hold him to. If they wanted to use their armored vehicles and military assault tactics to raid his house and haul this guy in with ankle chains, today I'm not going to complain.

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 26 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I just find it amazing that they always manage to arrest republican pedophiles calmly, respectfully, without any harm or escalation.

But random peasants pulled over for no reason and following every unhinged command and order from Sgt.Steroid Overdose have a very real, very possible chance to be brutalized or be murdered.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

It's cause the cops are far more likely to find themselves in the first category.

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

this guy gets it

[–] sunbytes@lemmy.world 6 points 15 hours ago

If they only get to use their toys in specific cases, they'll pretend it's always that case.

Right now the key words are "insurrectionist" and "terrorist" and "illegals". They say the keyword, they suddenly get the loopholes.

It wouldn't be a stretch to say they suspected "illicit" materials just so they could gear up for their hero LARP.

[–] NotASharkInAManSuit@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Another god damned drag queen pulling psy op.

[–] OrteilGenou@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago

Whoa whoa no need to libel drag queens like that. Looking fab has fuck all to do with this shit

[–] QueenHawlSera@sh.itjust.works 5 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

At first I misread that as "RJ MAY Distribute hundreds of child porn files" as in, he was allowed to because of some loophole

[–] Nelots@lemmy.zip 4 points 12 hours ago

I read it as in "is considering distributing..." and was VERY confused.

also still zero when right wingers don't have an outcry because they're too busy owning the libs or something

[–] Zier@fedia.io 128 points 2 days ago (5 children)

What? A republican pedo? I am shocked. Who knew that republicans were sick child molesters. This is so out of character, and a complete anomaly. /S

[–] Nelots@lemmy.zip -4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Listen, I hate to defend republicans here, but your comment implies that all of them are pedophiles and that's just not true. They all may be fucked up in some way or another, but even republicans dislike pedophiles.

[–] LePoisson@lemmy.world 7 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago) (1 children)

I think the comment is just calling out that one political party seems to have a lot more pedos than the other based on who has been arrested over the past ... Idk let's just say decade or so.

Obviously we all know not all Republicans are pedophiles but they sure as hell seem to harbor way more of them than Dems and it's not even slander it's just true.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 2 points 3 hours ago

Correct. The GOP is pro pedo. They have proposed laws to allow marrying children 15 & under. And they have proposed laws to allow child labor to come back. Keep your children away from these people. There might only be about 10 'good' republicans left in the world at this point.

[–] D_C@lemm.ee 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

He was hoping to be president one day. He would've been the second paedo president of the us!

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

Jefferson, Trump, and this guy... There's at least three.

I imagine much much more. SA was fairly normal for the enslaver presidents. "Clinton was on epstein island". Etc.

That we know about*

[–] wanderwisley@lemm.ee 10 points 1 day ago

This is my shocked another republican was arrested for being a pedo face.

[–] FreakinSteve@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

Legit shocked that NYPost reported it

Anyone know that massive list of the Republican pedophiles that was being compiled? Was it Slate that was doing the list? I've forgot and long lost the link. It was huge though. Like a 1000 names at least at the time.

[–] tamal3@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

If I were to make a protest poster with this information, what pithy statement would be the best combination of true and impactful? I was thinking, "Protect children and women?! 1410 identified Republican sexual predators!"

Could the language get more specific but stay true? These aren't all convicted offenses, right? They also weren't so government officials, some just identify as Republican?

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

PEDOS? SEE: CONSERVATIVES

PROTECT THE CHILDREN: NEVER ELECT CONSERVATIVES

[–] tamal3@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

I guess I should also first ask how many Democrats are on a similar list...

[–] OrteilGenou@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

How about "1410 known cases, and we estimate that there may be more, between 20001 and 20550" which is the zip code distribution for Washington DC

It's clunky but I feel like there's something there

[–] Karjalan@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I just NEED all the liberals and centrists to remember shit like this anytime the right tries to get righteous about protecting children or claiming minority groups are grooming kids etc.

They literally don't give a shit about harm to kids, thir "team" are the worst perpetrators of it and they don't hold them accountable in the slightest.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 6 points 18 hours ago

it's ALWAYS projection with them. They don't give two shits about kids, or women, they just use them as excuses to persecute whomever is on their culture war bullshit list
