Even if it didn't represent the most genocidal empire in history, it would still be a ugly ass flag. It has too much information: 50 stars, 13 stripes, and a height-to-width ratio of 10:19?? Who designed this garbage??
Don't forget the fact Captain America's suit defaces this flag because nobody has time to draw half a hundred stars on his chest.

That morning he wrote notes for a future poem about this event. Later that week, he finished the poem “Defence of Fort M’Henry.” On September 20, the Baltimore Patriot published “Defence of Fort M’Henry.” Francis Scott Key’s brother-in-law set the poem to music, and the combined poem and music were published under the name “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
In 1929, “House Resolution 14” was presented to Congress to name “The Star-Spangled Banner” as the official national anthem to the United States. There were many objections to this resolution.
One objection was that the tune of the “Star-Spangled Banner” was taken from the song “To Anacreon to Heaven.” This song was the theme for the Society of Anacreon, which was active between 1766-1791. The Society of Anacreon was a gentleman’s club that meet monthly to listen to music of questionable tastes and to socialize. Ralph Tomlinson wrote the lyrics and John Stafford Smith composed the melody in 1788 and 1780 respectively. The song alluded to alcohol consumption and love in the last line of the first stanza, “I’ll instruct you like me to entwine the myrtle of Venus with Bacchus’s wine.” Even though only the tune was used, some members still saw it risqué that the two songs could be intertwined.
If you look it up, the Society of Anacreon, was a club in London. So a song with lyrics that are about a fight with the British, uses a tune taken from a British song lol. Classic colonizer maneuver.

Hey y'all what's a good laptop for college use?
My old uni laptop was a Lenovo ThinkPad running a Windows/Linux dual boot. If i were to go to university again today i would probably go with a Lenovo again but ditch Windows altogether. You don't need Windows for university work, and especially if you are in a scientific field like i was everyone is using Linux anyway. Lenovo has pretty good price-performance ratio and generally does not force manufacturer specific software on you like many others do. I am not very familiar with the new models though, the last time i bought a laptop is over ten years ago. You would have to do some research and decide what criteria you are looking for and what your budget is.

They fixed the genocidal last emperor of China. The limiting factor is how much time and energy you have to work on them. Sometimes you can make good headway with something like "Everything you know about communism you've heard from capitalists. I think Game of Thrones is a great example as to why I dont get invested in still being worked on media. Like, if better call Saul had a GOT tier ending I think I actually would've exploded. It's why I haven't started playing Deltarune yet, even if I'm pretty sure it'll be good.
I mean, at least the people who watched the GOT TV show got an ending. I can't imagine what it's like for fans of the books

I believe there IS at least one fan project to write TWoW lol, haven't read it yet. The thing is that (according to GRRM) TWoW will be when we finally learn what the deal is with The Others and learn more about Valyria than we ever have before. So that alone isn't an easy task. The way the show did this was extremely underwhelming and by-the-numbers.
If it were my version I'd definitely make it so that the Targs sold out Valyria to the Faceless Men because they grew to abhor slavery and wanted to be big fish in a little pond in Westeros. I think it's basically canon already.
That's why I prefer tv shows with only one season, where the entire story line is being completed in one season so later seasons can't ruin it. And even if the ending does suck, at least you didn't get invested in the show for years.
Infinity Train taught me this lesson. On top of going of the rails it can also just get canned. No thanks.

The first few seasons of GoT were good. I just memory holed the last 2 seasons. I don't regret the investment even if it was a let down.
This is why I don't buy Steam games that are still in Early Access.
Early Access is just you paying a company to work as their beta tester. I would call it unpaid labor except it's even worse because they take money from you. It is the biggest scam in gaming today.

Visited FC United of Manchester recently. It's a fan owned club established by angry Man Utd fans who opposed the takeover by a US owner. They had a surprising amount of communist flags hanging around. Some hamsics, Marx banners, Che, pro Palestine. Very cool club.
My dream is to visit socialist football clubs from all over Europe, and they are on my list
Very friendly people. Run by volunteers. I wanted to get a jersey and some guy had to come down to open the fan store just for me. Took me around the grounds as well and gave me a history lesson for free.
