Holy shit my little brother is getting married next month and now I have to find Crocs to put these on the front and nuts on the back. Anyone got the assist here? I have a 3d printer.

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 days ago

Looks like AliExpress but DIY would be epic

[–] hamsamrich@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 days ago

Everyone I know who wears Vibram FiveFingers now being asked why they haven’t upgraded yet

[–] hOrni@lemmy.world 29 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It pokes fun at truck nuts so i find it funny. I never wear my Crocks with the band in the back so I can't use these.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 29 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Must be a city slicker if you never put your crocks into 4wd.

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 16 points 3 days ago

I've heard it called "sport mode"

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 9 points 3 days ago

Both of you, it's "Crocs"!

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 8 points 3 days ago (3 children)

I only wear them around the house because of the hard tile floors. I'm not wearing those monstrosities in public.

[–] FreshLight@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

My s.o. got me Lightning McQueen Crocs for Christmas a few years back.

I'm rocking these bad boys whenever I get the chance. And they light up when I walk! Ka-chow!

[–] CanadianCarl@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 days ago

Why are they monstrosities? I love my crocs. They were cheaper than my running shoes. They also work great at rocky beaches.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Lol, fair enough.

[–] SirSamuel@lemmy.world 25 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Here's a fun exercise.

If a person is driving a vehicle that has truck nuts, there is a high probability they are a ~~inbred fascist~~ hillbilly MAGAt.

If you get the chance to talk to the driver of said vehicle, congratulate them on helping their truck transition to male, and thank them for supporting trans rights. Immediately exit the Lowe's parking lot, letting them stew on what you just said

(Caution: There is a >0% chance you will be assaulted for doing this. That likelihood increases proportionate to the amount of beard and body fat you do not possess)

[–] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 11 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Regarding truck nuts as gender-affirming surgery for cars is already being lenient. Everyone knows the gender affirmation is really for the owner and not for the car.

[–] SirSamuel@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

I'm not gonna body shame someone for having a little peepee and tiny balls. That's between them and their therapist/bar tender.

I will say a giant vehicle or firearm is no replacement for gender affirming care. I would add that things that make a man feel more masculine, like hair transplants, penis enlargement, "low T" therapies, and similar things are gender affirming care. Those that receive that care should be reminded of that fact, lest they forget that what's good for the goose is good for the gander

Can someone explain to me why someone would wear crocs with the American flag? I get hanging it outside your house. But using it as a fashion item is something my european mind does not comprehend

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 8 points 3 days ago

white nationalism

[–] over_clox@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The flag is never supposed to touch the ground, its considered an insult to the flag and non-patriotic.

So I'm all for it 👍

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Ah, but are the nuts allowed to touch the ground? Cause I remember a whole patriot song about it.

[–] some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Hmm, gotta brush up on me Sack Code

[–] Sunnshine@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 days ago

It’s the same as people wearing crap with the Union Jack on it.

[–] Vreyan31@reddthat.com 2 points 2 days ago

A lot of people here treat the idea of being American like it's a sports team.

Also, it isn't classy. And it isn't meant to be. It also serves to communicate that you are relatable to other non-classy people. That can mean that you are an 'easy going person who accepts people as they come" or it can mean the same "...if you are white" (and conservative).

There was a popular show here in the 70s called the Dukes of Hazard about outlaw redneck hooligans. They drove a car with a Confederate flag on it. That kind of crass display was part of the 'fuck you, you can't tell me what to do' mentality, and it caught on for the aesthetics despite being racist. But I think it also opened the door here to people doing the same thing with the American flag.

[–] vogi@piefed.social 6 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I like that you are more confused about the crocs being american than the nuts that are hanging from them :)

What do the nuts actually symbolize? Im so lost there.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 6 points 3 days ago (2 children)

There has been a trend among the dumbest of the dumb rednecks to hang fake rubber nuts off the hitch on their jewelry pickup truck. They think it makes them look masculine, when it makes them look even stupider than they actually are.

[–] TheRealKuni@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think they’re just meant to be funny.

[–] SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago

I'm just waiting for them to hang nuts on their gun

It's how rednecks proclaim trans positivity. The truck wasn't built with testicles, and then they added them, which alters the truck's gender. How progressive.

[–] inmate_p01135809@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

That the person they belong to is a dick.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Can someone explain to me why someone would wear crocs with the American flag?

They found a pair at Goodwill or some other discount site and cared more about saving a few bucks than looking stylish.

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 5 points 3 days ago

That's very generous of you. Given their accessory choices, I would think this person in particular paid a premium for these.

Because their MAGA, so they have to prove it to other MAGAs so ICE doesn't deport them.

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

It's the same thing that happened to Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines, Cinco de Mayo, St. Patties, insert any and every holiday here.

Perversion of core values to turn a profit. It just so happens perverting American values like 'freedom' 1) makes people easy to control and 2) makes it easy to sell them shit like truck nuts for your american flag crocs.

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I get hanging it outside your house.

I don't know, isn't that weird? Who does that? (US people, obviously, but other than that?)

[–] SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago

I mean that's also a display of performative patriotism but I've seen that in a ton of countries (Hungary has flags everywhere). But I've never seen it go so far as being made into a fashion item

(Edit: I have actually: UK during the Cool Britannia phase, although it wasn't meant chauvinisticly there)

[–] Grabthar@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Totally! What kind of monster wears their crocs in sports mode?

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Only when I go in the loft or on the beach.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You can kick him in the nuts 3 times, but only one will count.

[–] MintyFresh@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Be careful. These nuts may kick back!

[–] daggermoon@piefed.world 12 points 3 days ago (7 children)

As a proud foot fetishist, DEATH TO CROCS!!!

[–] luthis@lemmy.nz 4 points 3 days ago

These kinda go hard, ironically

[–] SleepyPie@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This might indeed be comorbid with the end of something.

Shamelessness is said to be an expression of freedom which is ironically an admittance of repression.

The shameless actor is anxious about lost freedoms, and feels compulsion to perform. Unfortunately their performance is entirely dependant on a viewer, whether to take pleasure in their disgust or to justify further acts in others.

Ultimately if the shameless were truly free they would not have these extreme compulsions. It is said to be common in historical social decline, or when the future is uncertain.

[–] daannii@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I think truck nuts are a symbol of a certain lifestyle and perspective in life.

They symbolize something specific. A fixation on displays of masculine superiority (even on shoes).

A symbol of insecurity and extreme gender conformity and promotion of toxic masculinity in its most basic form.

Having male genitals on display to prove your manliness.

I don't have a problem with artistic expression in style. But the message being expressed here is not a testament to the progress of humans but the opposite.
