TIL: Under Article 3(c) of the Chicago Convention, a state aircraft cannot fly over another country’s territory without that country’s authorization.

Whereas for ordinary commercial airliners, the necessary overflight rights are usually already established through international treaties and bilateral/multilateral aviation agreements.
