For the ideologues of the billionaire class, the favoured strategy to hold on to power is to rile the masses into genocidal hate, to whip up fear, anything to stop them from joining the dots and turning on the billionaires who are expropriating our present and future and profiting from permanent war.

It is a time of nightmares. We must wake up.

Nothing revolutionary in this article, but I appreciate the common thread it weaves in explaining how we have gotten to such a desperate point and I also appreciate how much the writer despises Peter Thiel.

I am so tired of having endless discussions about the sky falling with our attention span and about how the problem these days is social media rots our brains blah blah blah and no one will address the blatant crime that we have ceded control of our digital lives to dumb, fascist wannabe fuedal rightwing edgelord billionaires and that maybe that is the actual problem...

    In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, Thiel was asked why he thought so many people sympathised with Luigi Mangioni, the alleged killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The question threw him.

    "Um... it's... uh... I don't know what to say."

    After almost visibly melting on camera, Thiel eventually said: "I still think you should try to make an argument and I think this is... there may be things wrong with our healthcare system but you have to make an argument and you have to try to find a way to convince people and change it by that."

    Idk Pete, sounds to me like everybody else is in agreement on how to handle the problem

    Someone fact check my history please - Were the fascist movements in Europe during ww2 (and before) orchestrated / started by the elite class? Or did some of them just fund it once they saw it was the tide they couldn’t fight? I thought it was more of a grassroots movement back then. Now it seems to be more manufactured.

    It was fairly similar to today, there was a spark among the masses but a group of elites took that and encouraged it, and then its success in various countries depended in part on how much the reigning conservatives allied with the fascists.
