Conservatives: He's picking on us now! That's antisemitic!

That’s fine, antisemitism is wrong, as long as he isn’t going to start supporting Nehtanyahu or Israel’s ethnic cleansing of Palestine.

    A) that is for American Jews. B) is says 90% support Israeli people, not actions of the state. The rest of the report gives mixed signals.

    Love to see!

Though I do hope protecting synagogues doesnt apply to protestors taking issue with synagogues organizing the auction of Palestinian land. If I'm not mistaken thats a thing mamdani has gotten wrong once, I'd like not to see him get it wrong again.

Hating and persecuting people for being Jewish is a scourge that must be rooted out. Taking issue with the way that certain Jewish groups in the US back the genocide happening in Gaza is a moral imperative. We must do both.

And he is wrong on that once again, protecting synagogues which do land sales.

Anti semitism is not some special form of discrimination that you would need special task force to combat. In fact jewish people are one of the most powerful ethnic group around the globe. There is no systematic anti semitism against them as it is in case of blacks for example.

Let's just forget about the rampant systemic antisemitism that existed for more than a 1000 years in Europe and culminated with the Holocaust, right ?

And the insanely antisemitic take that Jewish people is "the most powerful ethnic group". What the fuck ...

You are going 1000 years ago just like zios huh. Blacks amd many other races/ethnicites faced genocide in history too

And theres nothing anti semitic about stating the fact that jews are one of the most powerful ethnic groups and there is no systematic anti semitism that exists today.

It's antisemitic just like saying "all black people are criminals" is racist. You're making a vague generalisation about millions of people.

Real antisemitism is still very much present, and even though it's being massively weaponized by Zionists, it doesn't make it any less true.

And that weaponization is actually working and making the problem a lot worse, because of people like you, conflating real antisemitism with made up antisemitism (criticizing Zionism and Israel is antisemitism kind of fake).

Also I've never said that Jews were the only victims of genocide in history ?

"Its anti semitic" No its not, its like crying about anti white racism (which doesnt exist). Jews are as privileged as whites in the west, thats a fact.

Real anti semitism is what? Why does it need special task force and millions of dollars to combat it? Anti semitism has long became tool of zionists to downplay pro Palestinian movements. Its nothing but jewish exceptionalism in which zohran is engaging in. It does not jeed special attention.

Its like making anti german racism task force while holocaust was going on. Be serious.

I think antisemitism is a real problem today. In my country, the UK, within the last year or so, there was an arson attack on Jewish ambulances in London, and a stabbing attack in Manchester in which two Jewish men were killed. Both incidents seem to have been hate crimes.

Just to point out: I don't support Netanyahu or his government's genocide of Palestinians, but I'm not going to blame all Jews for that, because I'm not racist.

Anybody can be the victim of ethnic discrimination, regardless of how "powerful", or powerless, other members of your ethnic group are.

Do you support the existence of an israeli state?

Alot of hate crimes happen against other different communities as well. I dont think jews need special treatment. All this rhetoric does is justify the zionist argument of a safe country for jews

  • I don't think my view of Israel changes the fact that antisemitism exists

Yes, and there are specific programmes to tackle those different types of hate crimes, motivated by Islamophobia, or homophobia, or whatever it might be

The only Jewish people with any meaningful power are Israeli Zionists, and those outside of Israel that Israel supports because they serve the Zionist cause...

And Israels power is entirely given to them by the US. Its not truly their power, it was given to them by us, a massive global superpower, because it enables us to use them as the shield and attack dog of our imperialist interests in the most oil rich region of the world (that hates our guts because of all the imperialism) 😅

And like with all our allies, we do not care about them and would immediately discard them were it be more in our interest than continuing support

You are correct that Jewish people aren't currently facing any systemic oppression (which is good), but that is also not the only kind of oppression that exists. Given that mamdani has many Jewish constituents who are anxious about rising animosity towards Jewish people and the state that has worked very hard to make itself a surrogate for Judaism and a symbol of all Jewish people (to protect their ethno-nationalist political project built on genocide), he is right to make sure he is attending carefully to the difference between antisemitism and anti-zionism. His power to do anything as an elected official depends on buy-in, he needs his constituents.

He is not right to sacrifice anti-zionist issues like rejecting land auctions in service of southing peoples anxieties about antisemitism. That's wrong, and hes wrong for it.

There is no systematic anti semitism against them as it is in case of blacks for example.

There's (AFAIK) no systemic racism, but they're still about eight seven times* more likely to be the victims of (reported) hate crimes than non-Jews, so clearly something is going on here.

    *From the article:

noting that Jewish people make up only 12% of the city’s population but are the victims of around half the city’s reported hate crimes.

Taking that "around half" to be exactly 50% you get 12% of the city being targeted by hate crimes than the other 88%, meaning that our number of hate crimes per capita for Jews (H*0.5/0.12 for H hate crimes per capita) is about more than eight seven times more than that for non-Jews (H*0.5/0.88).

WDYM? This isn't a bad policy. Attacks on Jewish congregations do happen and more so since Oct. 7 for obvious reasons. This must not happen and the gap between Israel and Jewish diaspora is to tear wide open, having Jewish people protected from actual anti-semitic attacks can only help that process. This is true even if the Israel lobby conducts unlimited islamophobia at the same time. That's a related problem that must be tackled too.

At the same time I highly doubt Mamdani will comply with this disingenuous shit:

“For this effort to be effective, Mayor Mamdani must also commit to stopping his harsh anti-Israel rhetoric that makes Jewish New Yorkers vulnerable as there are clearly times when antisemitic attacks are fueled by anti-Zionism,” Jacobs said.

Well, Netanyahu wasn’t arrested at the UN 2 weeks ago. He has to dance to the tune of the dark overlords or he’ll visit Charlie Kirk soon enough. He’s smart enough to know where his power as mayor stops and the zionist death cult begins.

    And it begins with this.

This IS a bad policy. All it does is funds and protects zionist organizations who claim to be combating anti semitism. Also why special treatment for jews? I didnt see any anti islamophobic, anti black racism or anti homophobia task forces?

Not to mention he backtracked on arresting netanyahu, he didnt even go to protest him.

Also why special treatment for jews?

He addresses this in the video he put out: it's because they are proportionally much more likely to be the targets of hate crimes.

    https://www.nyc.gov/site/nypd/stats/reports-analysis/hate-crimes.page

181 out of 325 reported hate crimes this year were out of anti-Jewish bias, but Jewish people only make up 12% of NYC’s population.

    The NYPD lies about antisemitism.

The NYPD claims ~54% of hate crimes in NYC in 2024 were targeted at Jews. https://nyc.gov/site/nypd/news/pr001/crime-down-across-new-york-city-2024-3-662-fewer-crimes

But in June 2025, Moshe Davis, the head of New York City’s antisemitism task force, revealed that the NYPD data on antisemitism was fake and that “antisemitism is currently manifesting mainly in anti-Zionist and anti-Israel activities.” https://timesofisrael.com/mayor-orders-new-york-city-to-use-ihra-definition-of-antisemitism/

It gets worse. A @JTAnews article reporting on the apparent rise in antisemitism in NYC last year (https://jta.org/2025/01/06/ny/jews-were-targeted-by-the-majority-of-hate-crimes-in-nyc-last-year-nypd-says) cites 5 examples of what it calls "high-profile antisemitic incidents" in New York City. All 5 incidents were anti-genocide anti-apartheid incidents, of course.

The antisemitism industry exists for one and only one purpose: to help Israel murder Palestinians. That's it.
