Easy, just listen to that one on repeat until you hate it! You’re welcome

I used to search online for hour long remixes of songs I liked. It helped this itch but definitely not the same

OMG I feel this so much.

Youtube’s community playlists are actually useful for this. Just search “songs like ” and it will give you some playlists. It won’t be perfect, but you can then build your own based on the songs you like.

I really feel this with the artist Skynd. I love their voice and talent and style, but holy fuck do I not want to just mainline murder porn fan content straight into my brain, and I wish there was something similar that wasn't strictly about criminals.

I've never understood that reaction image. Obviously, Bugs' tongue is up, touching the top of their(?) mouth, making an L sound. "Lo"?

I feel like flipping your tongue down like that while saying "no" gives it a certain definitiveness

Yes, a certain definitiveness that starts with an "L" sound.

Honest question: are there people who still care at this point? I was a massive fan of the book series, before the show. I remember waiting for A Dance with Dragons.

But I lost interest years ago. I'm not sure I'd even read it, unless it came out and everyone was saying it's incredible or something.

Would be easy if it was country music.

  • I find this a lot with collaborations between 2 artists, inevitably it sounds nothing like any of their individual songs

If anyone can find a song like Pierre Henry's "Psyche Rock" that isn't the Futurama theme song, I'd appreciate it.

I don't think I've ever heard this, it's great. How did someone even make this in 1967?

Trying to think of anything similar... Maybe some parts of Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield?

Completely different genre and technology level, but at points it made me think of Avalanches interestingly enough.

Check out Avalanches either way, they're unbelievable.

    Wow. Tubular Bells is looooong.

I'm Aussie. The Avalanches have been on my high-rotation list for decades.

@prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone you seem to post comments at superhuman speed. Why is that?

There's a few hours at certain points of my work day, on certain days, where I've got nothing better to do. And this is the only form of "social media" that I consume.

    I disagree that it's superhuman but I guess I'll take it as a compliment (I know it isn't 😕)

Edit: Actually, just kidding, I'd never do this while I should be working. That was a joke.

    Skill issue.

i just listen to the song on repeat, over and over again, until i stop enjoying it. Then i forget about it for a good year or two. Then i happen to remember it, how cool it was, give it a listen, and get a very vivid picture of what i did and how i felt when i first listened to it.

This is the issue with being a TOOL fan. Nothing sounds quite like it. And Russian Circles is another favorite, but the algorithms are just like "this is clearly metal (it's not) so we'll put a bunch of screamy metal in your playlists that you'll obviously love" (screaming is annoying unless it's sparsely placed for emphasis)

I recently switched from Spotify to Qobuz and while I do like Qobuz, it lacks a block artist feature, making their playlists hit or miss.

I always thought that rishloo was fairly tool-like. In some ways, at least. Not a 1:1 thing, ofc. Wheel also scratches that itch. And altho it's quite different, katatonia also fits in some ways. Depends what you're looking for.
