At a rally in Nebraska Tuesday night, President Trump told his supporters exactly what he thinks about the well-being of the American people.

Trump first said that the price of goods and services, which have gone up thanks to his ill-advised Iran war and tariff policies, were “just a little bit high. It’s a small price to pay for keeping the world safe—keeping our country safe.

“They can take out a city. Let them take, let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay,” Trump said. “And it’s going to be over with very soon. It’s essentially almost over with.”

Conservative activists have argued that Trump didn’t really mean that losing the two cities is a “small price to pay,” but that he was referring to high gas prices. In that generous interpretation, Trump was arguing that his war, which has killed scores of civilians in the Middle East and an estimated 23 U.S. soldiers, is preventing Iran from waging large scale attacks on American cities. But Iran’s targets during the war have been U.S. installations in the Middle East, and it wasn’t targeting American cities before the war either.

California leaders, however, have taken his words at face-value.

Advocating for the mass death of his own citizens?

Trump v. United States, 603 U.S. 593 (2024) (holding that presidential immunity from criminal prosecution presumptively extends to all of a president's "official acts" – with absolute immunity for official acts within an exclusive presidential authority that Congress cannot regulate such as the pardon, command of the military, execution of laws, or control of the executive branch).

His invitation would be a mix of diplomacy and intell gathering, thus him in his official capacity.

-His lawyers and the coming SCOTUS opinion.

Iran could take out the president, the supreme court, and all of congress. It's a small price to pay.

This is partly why I dislike when people, particularly on Reddit, dismiss any and all far right talk as Russian bot troll farms.

This was live in front of real flesh and blood US citizens who cheered.

Conservatives hate their perceived domestic opposition more than they hate the country they entered into an unprovoked war with.

If you watch the video clip of him saying that, the crowd enthusiastically cheers.

Just a reminder that that Denmark still has an offer for California, and we would not suggest a foreign power take out any part of it.

I would love to know how one interprets those comments as being somehow related to gas prices. But it’s hard for me to get in that mindset, seeing as my mother refrained from smoking meth while pregnant with me. And what’s really sad is that Iran would never even consider taking out any American city. Because we live in a world where the fucking Ayatollahs are the voice of reason in global politics.

I would prefer Iran to take out Mar-A-Lago, followed by every conservative leader. Because, let's be frank, the war was caused by those dickheads.

EDIT: I was just guessing but was close, it's apparently 14%.

That logically makes sense, but I wouldn't expect that subtlety to be recognized by Iran. It's all America. I mean, do we, in mass, recognize the regional differences in opinion from around Iran? No. To the average person, it's all Iran.
