I mean yeah but you could also ask what type of society creates more rapists. And you would have other levers of power than "making more prisons".

Yeah i get the message here, but the message isn't very helpful. What happens if you do this for other crimes?

    "What causes murder: murderers"

    "What causes robbery: robbers"

    "What causes theft: thieves"

    "What causes heresy: heretics"

    "What causes thought crime: thoughtcriminals"

It's a statement that references itself. I understand the message that it is trying to send: victim blaming is bad, and a lot of powerful people don't view rape as seriously as they should. It's a good message hindered by bad messaging.

It's a deflection. The question isn't "what causes dooropeness? Open doors.", the question is "what causes people to not close a door." But if you don't ask "what causes rape to happen" but instead ask "what stimulates rapists to rape" or even just "what causes rapists", the answer would prompt widespread societal change. And nobody who profits from the current state of society wants that.

But under which circumstances are rapists more likely to rap?

EDIT: This comment has no misspellings and we are in a meme subreddit. Y'all need a chill pill

interesting question statistically, but completely wrong place and situation to ask.

Where is the right place and situation to ask questions?

I would imagine it's when there's a conversation happening that's relevant to the question. In this case, the conversation is explicitly about what causes rape, so the question seems out of place and not in good faith.

So 'what causes rape' is the wrong place to ask 'where rape occurs'? Got it. Not close enough to be relevant.

What a misleading title. Fuck you and all who mislead us and waste our time with such descrepancy between title and content.
