They discovered that subjects who used ChatGPT over a few months had the lowest brain engagement and “consistently underperformed at neural, linguistic, and behavioral levels,” according to the study.

The study found that the ChatGPT group initially used the large language model (LLM) to ask structural questions for their essay, but near the end of the study, they were more likely to copy and paste their essay entirely.

Microsoft does research on cognitive decline in use of LLMs: "Nope."

Google does research on cognitive decline in use of LLMs: "Nope."

MIT does research on cognitive decline in use of LLMs: "Fine, I'll read your goddamn opinion on the matter."

Edited: The article is good, I recommend it. However, I find this "brain-only" approach to be too biased. Students and people in general cannot learn without external information. This approach assumes people have studied the topics beforehand and have knowledge in it, which causes biases on the study and beats the purpose of it, which is proving people do not learn using LLMs!

Yeah don't hear to peddlers of this shit who profit from this shit. An independent non stakeholder has way more credibility in this regard.

You shall not create a machine in the likeness of a human brain!

Seriously why didn't the majority of users see this coming?

Or more specifically, you shall not rely on another brain, no matter how well that brain functions. You have a brain of yourself. Use it or lose it. It's not reprated work prevention. It's Alzheimer's disease prevention.
