Back in my day a beefy five layer was 89 cents. I could walk into a tacobell with 2 dollars and walk out full with some change

My family has sworn off Subway after 3 footlongs and chips cost us FORTY-FIVE FUCKING DOLLARS recently. I can make sandwiches at home, assholes.

While they pay their employees absolutely nothing. Where the hell is the money going, because it's certainly not going into quality ingredients.

Now the average Taco Bell outing is $10-12 for me. And that's if I only order the value menu stuff. It's considerably cheaper than any other fast food option, but still too expensive.

Tacobell makes zero sense. Like a Gordita Crunch is $6 by itself, but I can get a box with one, including a taco, burrito, and a side, with a drink for $7.

The Gordita should be like $3-$4 at most. It used to be a double decker taco was like $1.99 and a normal taco was like $1.69, so why buy a taco.

I do NOT understand the boxes, but I appreciate them.

My local store even offers cheesy/sour cream potatoes as the side.

I can buy in bulk and make it a bit cheaper. But I'd have to make a week's worth, and I still can't quite nail their pita bread.

Yo back in 1982, rappers bragged about driving big cars and spending 10 dollar bills.

    $10

I've been keeping track of my own "Taco Bell Index" since tacos were 59¢.

By all means vote, but if you don't want Taco Bell charging that much then stop buying at that price. You are also voting with your wallet. I don't understand people complaining about how the prices of things are unacceptable while they demonstratively do accept them.

That idea only works if there are cheaper options available or going without is possible. If there's no place to get cheaper food you still have to eat. In my experience food is expensive everywhere.

Fast food should be the first thing you drop, it's honestly sad that these companies aren't dying out as their prices match actual restaurant price, for way worse quality (sometimes)

Yeah I mean once they match actual restaurant pricing I stopped going to them in favor of getting much better quality restaurant food instead when choosing to eat out. It’s the easy answer if your going to be spending that kind of cash either way.

People who don't have a lot of money tend also not to have time to cook delicious meals for themselves.

Fast food isn't cheap, I could go out and get 1 meal for 15 - 20$, or i could buy a bunch of lunch meats, rice, beans, and noodles and live off that for a week to 2.

Can be delicious, probably better than MickieD's, but damn do you u get a lot of it for your dollar.

Better than nothing, but just barely. The general election is past the point at which you can choose the progressive candidate. If you're able to choose between a progressive and a fascist in the general, congrats, you're in an area where progressives have been able to get enough support.

If your choice is between an establishment centrist and a fascist, yeah, please vote for the non-fascist, but your support to get a progessive on the ballot might've been fucking nice to have, yeah?

VOTE BLUE as the only option against fascism, but if you're only voting in the general election, you are supporting fascism. Vote in the primary. Give your support outside of voting - canvassing, protesting, even standing up for progressivism online - whatever you can do.

I’m blown away at how fast food companies are still operating with these prices. At that price point I can get an awesome meal with better quality.
