1. Server Main Rules

The main rules of the server will be enforced stringently. https://lemmy.world/

2. No spam or reposts + limit off topic comments

Spamming posts will be removed. Reposts will be removed with the exception of a repost becoming the main hub for discussion on that topic.

Off topic comments that do not pertain to the post at hand may be removed if it is deemed they contribute nothing and/or foster hostility at users. This mostly applies to political and religious debate, but can be applied to other things at the mod’s discretion.

3. Post must have Antiwork/ Work Reform explicitly involved

Post must have Antiwork/Work Reform explicitly involved in some capacity. This can be talking about antiwork, work reform, laws, and ext.

4. Educate don’t attack

No mocking, demeaning, flamebaiting, purposeful antagonizing, trolling, hateful language, false accusation or allegation, or backseat moderating is allowed. Don’t resort to ad hominem attacks against another user or insult other people, examples of violations would be going after the person rather than the stance they take.

If we feel the comment is uncalled for we will remove it. Stay civil and there won’t be problems.

5. No Advertising

Under no circumstance are you allowed to promote or advertise any product or service

6. No factually misleading information

Content that makes claims or implications that can be proven false or misleading will be removed.

7. Headlines

If the title of the post isn’t an original title of the article then the first thing in the body of the post should be an original title written in this format β€œOriginal title: {title here}”.

8. Staff Discretion

Staff can take disciplinary action on offenses not listed in the rules when a community member's actions or general conduct creates a negative experience for another player and/or the community.

It is impossible to list every example or variation of the rules. It is also impossible to word everything perfectly. Players are expected to understand the intent of the rules and not attempt to "toe the line" or use loopholes to get around the intent of the rule.

9. No posting links to Twitter/X or Meta owned properties

Social Media products such as Twitter/X and Meta Properties (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Threads) are known low quality information sources - they actively spread misinformation without sufficient moderation, hate speech. These platforms each have billionaire owners working actively to eliminate labor protections through direct action, lobbying, performative large scale layoffs and attacks on institutions that enforce labor law.

You are not encouraged to do so, but you may post screenshots from these sites IF THE INFORMATION IS NOT AVAILABLE ON ANOTHER VALID PLATFORM. Screenshots must include info to support a relevant conversation within this community and must show a VISIBLE time/date stamp for posterity. If you are caught manipulating content of a screenshot, your post will be removed and you will receive an indefinite ban from this community at the discretion of the moderator(s)

No pass through/archive services are allowed as they potentially feed traffic back to these services, directly or indirectly (e.g. Services like Xcancel or Nitter)

Why is Luigi there? He didn't do anything.

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 57 points 2 weeks ago

Yup we were hanging out the whole time

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 15 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

with a smile like that? it would be a waste not to include him

[–] steal_your_face@lemmy.ml 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Those are some innocent titties if I've ever seen em

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 13 points 2 weeks ago

Dudes fucking built like an action figure.

[–] Genius@lemmy.zip 13 points 2 weeks ago

I wouldn't have been able to murder Thomas Edison with a Roman cavalry charge if Luigi hadn't fixed those UI bugs

Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing!

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Because nobody cares about the CEO

[–] synae@lemmy.sdf.org 15 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The CEO that someone other than Luigi killed?

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Luigi was with me. He didn't do it!

It's their means of exclusion. I think you should interpret the picture as "showing up on the Jumbotron"

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 58 points 2 weeks ago

Those are rookie numbers. We gotta pump those up.

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 39 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I don't get the orcas, did they kill a CEO?

[–] Hello_there@fedia.io 35 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

There was a yacht they attacked. Dno if there were injuries.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 26 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

They were orca hooligans.

Most of the 15 were male juveniles and teens, the "most curious and exploratory" of an orca population, suggesting that what started as playful head-bumping on boat rudders has escalated as the animals have grown larger. The team notes that this rudder-bumping behavior was observed around 2017, but the interactions didn't result in any boat damage. Now that the orcas are larger, their game has become a lot more powerful.

And no orca over the age of 25 – when males are fully grown – has been seen participating in the tomfoolery. Scientists suspect younger orcas have seen older siblings playing with their rudder 'toys' and then copied. (Some females have been spotted, but they're most likely there just to babysit the kids.)

For real. I grew up around 26, haven't attacked a boat since then.

John McAfee had that post about how fucking whales isn't bestiality so maybe it's him?

[–] dangling_cat@lemmy.blahaj.zone 38 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Kindly remind that CEOs are just scapegoats and replaceable. They answer to the private equity and institutional shareholders. Which is largely behind the scenes as designed.

[–] veniasilente@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

And once everyone is too afraid to become a CEO, that should make things a bit harder for the dark hand.

this is only partially true because CEOs sit on the board of their friends' companies.

Can we get this during winter too?

[–] MasterNerd@lemmy.zip 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Why stop there? I'd prefer a weekly occurence. We could call it CEO Sacrifice Sunday

We only should sacrifice the best of the best.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 12 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Isn't the top left still alive?

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

Dead to his wife...

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Killing a career or two counts I guess.

[–] cRazi_man 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Will this kill the career? Or even the marriage? I imagine this sort of thing is common in those social circles. Everyone doesn't value monogamy and/or love.

[–] A_Union_of_Kobolds@lemmy.world 26 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

His wife removed his surname on FB so I don't think its gonna work out at a guess

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 14 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

It's not serious unless she takes him out of her top 10 on MySpace.

The only good thing about Facebook is that it can sometimes reveal embarrassing shit about your bosses. I had a boss (the CTO) who went through an ugly divorce with his wife who was the daughter of the company's owner (the only reason this moron had the CTO job in the first place). A bunch of people at work were FB friends with her, and they told everybody else that when she posted something about him, she always referred to him as "Three Inches, Two Minutes".

[–] rozlav@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

what's the story about the left top couple ?

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 19 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

A CEO and his HR person got busted having an affair at a Coldplay concert as they got caught on the kiss cam.

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

The best part is that they could have stayed calm, played it off and probably gotten away with itβ€”instead they had to go and Streisand Effect themselves for the whole world to see, by bringing as much attention to themselves as possible.

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 28 points 2 weeks ago

CEO of Astronomer or some company like that. Apparently the lady is his head of HR. They got busted cheating at a Coldplay concert. The video is pretty funny because they could not have made it more obvious that they were doing something bad.

Wonder who they pissed off. Gotta love the article focusing on β€œphilanthropy” while stepping quickly past company failings that would result in lost jobs, but that the billionaires would be β€œunbothered” by it.

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Adding this, in another article they're described as very pro Israel, and had a lawsuit from some cousints who had been cut out of the business. Anti Israel sentiment was not as loud back then, but it makes you wonder.

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

I'm sorry for their kids, their son seems to be genuinely grieving, and whether they are rich brats or not that's a terrible shocking thing to happen to your parents. But they were selling their mansion so they could build another 20 million dollar mansion in Forest Hill, and that's hard to feel sorry for exactly. There aren't many ethnic drug companies (save for the MS drug companies who actually invest all their profits into MS research, at least where I live, and are super generous) and I doubt he was running one of them. Their mansion was eventually just torn down, the wealthy Chinese prospective buyers declared it immediately to be bad luck when they entered with the real estate agent who found them. All pretty interesting.

December is in the summer now?

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 16 points 2 weeks ago

In Australia

[–] Harvey656@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I was gonna say this, but the top left guy just happened- these two were 6 months apart, and in the same hemisphere lol
