I kinda think it was made with the intention kids would be exposed to it by mistake.
And I’m a 40-year old adult who knows exactly what Happy Tree Friends is, and I’m noping the hell away from it.

Quite possibly, it was rather popular in my middle school and I think MCR or some other popular band did a music video with them.
German media company managers are still think "Oh it's a cartoon, it must be for children!" No, they haven't hear the shot...
I reckon OP realized that but was more amused by the literal gore cartoon in the Kinder section and the title of the post is an entirely separate joke

It's a big country in Europe with a lot of people in it. But that's not important right now.
My daughter happened upon Happy tree friends at about 4 or 5 years old lol. She absolutely loved it, and there was no taking it away. Luckily she was born with the ability to realize the difference between real life and make believe, and she turned out just fine.
Ffs, she's only messily killed 2 of her friends. And one of those was an accident.
She was definitely not born with that ability...
