Two of the most vile human beings ever to defile the surface of the Earth duke it out and all everybody else wish is that they both go away forever.

[–] shutz@lemmy.ca 39 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Alien vs. Predator: whoever wins, we lose

[–] Eheran@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Uh ... Fairly sure that aliens winning is the far worse option compared to predators that are hardly ever here.

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Yeah for real. With predators you can just not be armed

Predator: he works out, therefore he has guns, therefore he is armed, therefore I shall rip off his arms

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 3 points 1 day ago

Aliens will take your arms for you!

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Unless you like having eggs laid in your tummy because then it's all aliens all day long!

[–] Eheran@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

True. But the facehuggers incapacitated the people, how are they supposed to enjoy the ride?

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What if they are paralyzed but aware?

[–] MegaUltraChicken@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I believe facehuggers emit some kind of toxin that sedates the victim into a coma via skin contact, so there shouldnt be any awareness.

That's disappointing.

[–] thatKamGuy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

Seeing as Murdoch was born in Australia, and Trump is a well-known rapist.. this is an even more apt comparison than you may have thought!

[–] Tenthrow@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

More like Alien alien vs Prometheus Alien. We all lose.

[–] lennee@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

leaves one less of them so id say we win

[–] phx@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

No need to eat the rich if they end up eating each other

[–] Wilco@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago

Nope, we hope they destroy each other.

[–] ShadowRam@fedia.io 1 points 1 day ago

Wait till the immortality drugs become a thing in the future.

Then there's no more hard term limits to anything....

Fascist-enabling media billionaires get sidelined because their fascist leaders have no loyalty? Who could have seen that one coming?

An important figure in nationalist politics in Germany during the first three decades of the twentieth century, Alfred Hugenberg became the country's leading media proprietor during the 1920s. As leader of the German National People's Party, he played a part in helping Adolf Hitler become chancellor of Germany and served in his first cabinet in 1933, hoping to control Hitler and use him as his tool. The plan failed, and by the end of 1933 Hugenberg had been pushed to the sidelines.

Oh. Right.

This serves as the perfect illustration as to why whatever brand of kissing Trump's ass anyone may be doing or have done in the past will not save you when he decides to turn on you. Rupert Murdoch is probably the number one person on Earth most responsible for getting Trump into office not only this time, but also the last time. And the fact that he did so means absolutely nothing to Captain Cheeto who is big mad at him right now. The Trump regime absolutely will attack and discard anyone -- anyone -- who has been deemed to have outlived their usefulness.

Business owners. Racists. Farmers. Factory workers. Proud Boys. Conservative pundits. Trump doesn't care about you. He only cares about himself. Trump will not protect you unless he thinks doing so will benefit him today. Tomorrow? The day after that? Eventually he'll be done with you, and he'll make up a way to declare you his enemy, and he'll come after you. And nothing you did for him before will matter. You'll be in the exact same El Salvadorian gulag or whatever as whoever he was mad at last week.

Fascist regimes need a constant supply of enemies to pretend that they're valiantly fighting against, and when the run out of the last batch of enemies they'll make up a new one. That new batch of enemies will likely contain all the people who they claimed were their allies during the last go-round. There's precedent. As it happens, plenty of it. Absolutely oodles of examples.

Robespierre was killed by the Revolution.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Everyone who works with trump will be shit on. No Exceptions.

Rupert smiled quietly to himself, satisfied with his role in the destruction of the environment, democracy, and basic human rights.

His only regret was that he wouldn't be around much longer, to truly enjoy the depth and breadth of suffering he brought to humanity.

[–] _absolve723@lemmynsfw.com 16 points 1 day ago

I'd watch a 'Thank You For Smoking'-style movie about this

[–] Initiateofthevoid@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

His only regret was that he wouldn’t be around much longer, to truly enjoy the depth and breadth of suffering he brought to humanity.

Actually, his only regret was that he failed to disinherit 3 of his 4 children so that his empire could outlive him.

Natural causes are coming for him and his creation, and neither he nor the fuckup in chief have one true biological or political heir to wield their ridiculous power. Their legacies will crumble without them, and the world will cheer. Or at least sigh in relief.

Maybe now Trump supporters can be persuaded to boycott Fox News.

[–] aseriesoftubes@lemmy.world 49 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They’ll just turn to something worse, like OAN, Newsmax, RT, Breitbart, or the Epoch Times. Unfortunately, there’s no shortage of far-right media for them to consume.

[–] AbouBenAdhem@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

Yeah, but Fox is the gateway drug.

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Good luck, the Fox News logo is burned into the screen at my parents' house.

[–] AbouBenAdhem@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Then you can change the channel and they won’t notice!

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

Hold on, this gave me an idea... Someone should take reasonable, center-left reporting, slap the Fox News chyron on it, and put it on in public places that show Fox News. See if anyone notices.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Maybe now Trump supporters can be persuaded to

hold up - that's not how cults work. They will do what they are told to do and nothing else.

[–] Steve@startrek.website 2 points 1 day ago

Think what they’re told to think.

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Also, it should be way lower considering they're Nazis now:

Trump receives his best marks on border security, as a 55% majority approves. That’s the only issue where his ratings are in positive territory. On immigration, a record high of 47% approve of Trump (48% disapprove), while a new low of 38% approve on the economy (56% disapprove). His worst ratings are on inflation (33% approve, 59% disapprove), followed by tariffs (33%-58%), foreign policy (40%-54%), taxes (38%-53%), and guns (41%-44%).

It was also below the mark Fox polling had found for former Presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush after 100 days.

Link to poll, it's worse than it sounds: https://www.foxnews.com/official-polls/fox-news-poll-first-100-days-president-trumps-second-term

Edit: This article talks about comparing previous presidents. The Biden one has gotta hurt little tiny hands:

By contrast, at three months in, former President Joe Biden’s approval rating stood at 54%, 10 points higher than Trump’s.

During the same period in their first terms, Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush boasted even higher approval ratings of 62% and 63%, respectively.

Trump’s 44% rating is also 1 point lower than his approval rating at the 100-day mark during his first term in 2017.

Appearing inferior to Obama, classic Trump rage inducer

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Trump and Rupert should fight on tv to solve this I'd pay per view that, as long as they can guarantee its to the death. Trump could finally show us all what a big man he is.

[–] chetradley@lemm.ee 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Whoever loses, America wins.

[–] modeler@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

I'm hoping for a draw. After 12 brutal rounds.

[–] ZagamTheVile@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I feel like at this point of the movie, both of their anuses become sentient and try to devour the other.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago

Their very possession of anuses is an insult to the anus community.

[–] Archangel1313@lemm.ee 5 points 1 day ago

Isn't this just a kind of admission that polls are rigged? Why would get mad at the pollster, unless he assumes they could determine the outcome at will?
