It completely baffles me that there are apparently a decent number of people who voted for this jackass who are somehow surprised he's doing everything he said he spent months telling everyone he was going to do. Dumb fucks deserve all the pain and heartache they're going to get. I never really understood what people get out of apocalyptic religious stories where the wicked are punished with divine torment for defying God but now that I am faced with so many people who, despite having access to all of the information required to make a better decision, willingly chose to do the wrong thing because of their willful ignorance and greed, I understand these texts so much better. It is maddening to have a way of morality and justice that you believe in and see people who you feel should do better completely disregard all you believe in. It's no wonder people wrote stories about how there is a day of reckoning coming, where the first shall be last and the last shall be first, the wicked will be punished for knowingly defying the rules, and the good will be rewarded for staying the course. I don't wish eternal damnation on those who voted for Trump and I don't think there's a God who would even do that to them but I don't feel bad for them at all and I refuse to listen to them cry about losing their jobs or not being able to afford groceries if those things result directly from their decisions. Their Day of Judgement is coming, and it's entirely self created. Fitting for a group of people who worship a man as a god- their god king is the source of their judgement.

I find myself increasingly not giving a shit what other people think. They should have realized 6 months ago what would happen and vote proactively. This guy is not acting like someone who cares about future elections. Which should give us a clue what is going to happen next year in the midterms.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 1 day ago

He's doing great, folks. The best any president has ever done.

/If you can't read sarcasm on the internet, turn off your computer.

[–] The_Caretaker@lemm.ee 52 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Also, the lowest IQ, the lowest charisma, the most criminal convictions, the most criminal associates, the most rape accusations, the most bankruptcies, and the most baby mamas. Lets face it he's a loser and a scumbag.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

But he's first on the list of worst smelling sitting presidents, and has the highest number of criminal indictments of all of them.

[–] howrar@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago (3 children)

lowest charisma

What? This guy has one of the strongest cult followings of any human being I've ever heard of. How is that low charisma?

[–] Zero22xx@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I think that says more about his cult than him. I know that I'm not sitting here thinking "oh poor people, if only they could break free from Trump's stunning charisma and dashing good looks." I'm actually sitting here thinking that there's a lot more ignorant, illiterate, inbred, hateful fucking morons on this planet than I previously thought. And even if they all suddenly turn into Democrats, my impression of them as ignorant, illiterate, inbred, hateful fucking morons is never going to change again.

[–] The_Caretaker@lemm.ee 8 points 1 day ago

He's the idiot whisperer

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 61 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Yet he still beats the Democrats in Congress in terms of trust to handle the nation's main problems.

smh

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Approval ratings get weird, someone with a lower approval rating can beat someone with a higher approval rating.

So relatively fewer people are "excited" about a democrat candidate. If they have to pick between that candidate and Trump, they may still pick the candidate as the best practical option available, but they don't necessarily "approve" of the choice they are making. People have a hard time mustering "approval" for a milquetoast candidate, even if that person is the least objectionable to a broad set of folks.

Meanwhile Trump is making a particular sort of folk very happy, in a way no other modern politician has dared to do. Most people may find it highly objectionable driving a lot of disapproval, but you will have the die hard MAGAs ecstatic about stuffing those brown people into vans and locking them up in El Salvador without any due process.

[–] son_of_phil@lemm.ee 37 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Why should people trust the Democrats? They lost to this ass clown. /s (but only a little /s)

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

The changes in approval for each are likely from their own voters. D voters haven't approved or trusted any R's for years, so the change in Trumps approval is almost certainly from R voters.

Likewise, R voters haven't trusted D's for decades, so the change in D trust is almost certainly from D voters.

[–] klemptor@startrek.website 3 points 1 day ago

And independents

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

(… as a treat)

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

I mean, last time we gave democrats a majority, they showed themselves untrustworthy by going back on the bulk of their promises.

And yes, 2020-2022 counts even if you don't want accountability.

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 29 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (16 children)

Every damn headline

"Trump has lowest approval rating since 2016, with 40% disapproving, 35% greatly approving, and 25% confused that Biden is not president"

[–] ImplyingImplications@lemmy.ca 19 points 1 day ago

And then the article:

"The poll shows 1 in 3 Americans support continuing to send random brown people to a gulag in El Salvador on the off chance it lowers grocery prices."

He is now requesting an investigation into this. He thinks it can’t be real. They’ll probably try to arrest pollsters now.

[–] CapriciousDay@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

MAGA and getting "no regerts" tattoos, name a more iconic duo

[–] wheeldawg@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Didn't leave the "ragrets"ers out!

[–] wheeldawg@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

Who is answering these polls, exactly?

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Still way too high

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What difference does it even make? He's already in office, he don't give a fuck about anybody else, and R voters are always gonna vote R.

Mid term elections. Other poloticians need to distance themselves from him if they want to win. So it leads to less radical republicans in those seats. And thus republican congress people who are more likely to vote to remove him from office, or even just to pass laws to restrict what he can do.

Only 1361 more to go…

[–] BossDj@lemm.ee 13 points 1 day ago

That's not fair, it's only because the lamestream media keeps telling everyone the things he's doing

[–] the_trash_man@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago
[–] the_q@lemm.ee 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

If approval ratings mattered he'd be in trouble.

[–] Brandonazz@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Any day now they'll dip low enough and Schumer's gonna GET 'IM. He's got a plan!

[–] yoshman@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Shit! He put his readers down somewhere! He can't read the plan!

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

His plan is always capitulation, though.

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh you just wait and see till midterms come around. Or don't see but it's crucial that you wait. Never interrupt the enemy while he's making a mistake. Once he stops making mistakes, which has to be any day now, that's when surely somebody will come around and do something.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Oh you think there'd be midterms do you?

[–] Bieren@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Trump: “I have the best, most beautiful poll numbers. No one has ever had poll numbers like mine. I was told more people like me than anyone else. Elon was telling me the other day about how beautiful I am. He says no one is more beautiful than me. Sure am glad I got him to rig the election. No one can rig an election like him. But those numbers…wow. I bet more people like me than are alive. We should look into making all polls about me.”

Not low enough.

[–] lemmy12369@midwest.social 2 points 1 day ago

I think this poor guy just wants friends who like him. And he decided to play the main character who gets free food and board for a few years..
