With the added shipping and tax on bringing it into the country, plus postal insurance on an international package like that. Really not worth the time, money and downsides compared to just buying local

It's already ridiculously expensive for what it is. $700 in store here in Australia

Well this name was definitely a lesson to double check what you read from a post when just scrolling on by...

Just added Accelerando to my backlog. Thanks for the recommendation 😀

I saw this video show up as well, and it got me thinking what are mine?

I tend to do tonnes of research before buying any tech. But potentially it would be my TP-Link BE6500 WiFi 7 router. Like it works amazingly well, and it solved all of the routing and bandwidth issues with streaming and gaming on WiFi, however I don't think it was worth the price or headache getting it working.

Otherwise, not sure if we're regarding this as tech, but I purchased the Illumi Classic IPL device a few months ago. I made the wrong decision here, I should have spent the extra and picked up the Illumi Pro instead.

Thanks everyone for the responses and recommendations! I didn't expect this post to drive so much engagement, and I'm a bit overwhelmed by the responses waking up today haha. I'll try to respond as the day goes on. Thanks again all!

Just looked this up and it has gone straight on to my backlog, thanks for the recommendation!

I tried Ready Player One, but I struggled to get into it, and it's actually what got me on to Snow Crash in the first place

Any recommendations on what to read after this one? I also have Piranesi Susanna Clarke on my backlog, but would like something in a similar technological fashion as Snow Crash

Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you, wishing you the best of luck in your new life now ☺️

Not sure of local pricing in your area, but would a ThinkPad T480 or T490 be within budget? The AMD version (I think it might be the T495, someone correct me if I'm wrong) would be my pick personally.

I think it has to depend on a person by person basis. For example, I have to be left for me to figure it out, if anyone else tries to get involved then I guarantee I will be burnt out after a day and then just give up for a while.

Others may benefit from the help and guidance, but not all of us unfortunately 😔

I've gone up and down throughout my life, and these days I am quite an awkward individual in person.

However, what worked for me in my early 20s when I was probably at my most sociable was finding a hobby to interact with people in. Even something as simple as a monthly book group can work wonders on your social skills

So for background, I'm an IT Consultant, and mostly work in the development space, but one area I've never touched before has been mobile app development. So today, I spent the day getting a new GitHub repo sorted out, put together a pretty simple Actions workflow with SonarQube integration and basic test gates.. on that note, got a new VPS up and running and deployed SonarQube there. Then finally just got my first Gradle project running on Android Studio, and after dealing with a corrupted keystore (fixed by just nuking the keystore, cleaning the project and rebuilding), I finally got technically my first Android app running on my S25 😄😄

Hii everyone!! ☺️ Here's my two GameBoys that I have had since I was a kid. I'm thinking for the GameBoy Color to do the screen upgrade with backlight. For the GameBoy Pocket, I will need to do a screen replacement which I want to go with an OEM replacement, or at least OEM spec. I also need to find a battery cover replacement for the Pocket.

Any advice on what to look out for opening these up? And also any advice on where I can start sourcing what I need?

Thanks in advance!

PS1 games and memory cards are all originally mine from when I was a kid, same with the GameBoy games and the GameBoy Pocket.

The Pokemon Stadium and Digimon card books are complete as well 😊

Hii all! As some parts of the world are moving towards summer, here in Sydney we're moving towards Winter, and it is definitely starting to cool down a bit.

Trying to blend in here with this outfit, nothing attention grabbing, just trying to be comfortable and happy 😊

Hope you are all having a lovely day 💕

Hii everyone!! I made a post about 3 months ago when I first joined on piefed.world. I've since been wanting to migrate over to blahaj.zone but been putting it off due to not being able to migrate my posts and comments. So anyway, here I am now on a new account and will stick with this one moving forward.

I'm Natalie, a 34yr old IT Consultant from Sydney Australia. If it wasn't obvious by my pic, I'm male to female presenting, and not currently on HRT. I'm into Linuxy things (cliche I know), and Linux gaming a bit too, mainly CS2 and WoW. Also do a bit of gaming on my Switch, 2D and HD-2D JRPGs are my go to's.

Hope you had/are having a lovely long weekend if you are getting one! Otherwise a lovely weekend ☺️
