Should be two pronged - tariffs on cloud and other services while fostering competitive local alternatives. While it's possible knock up a cloud out of anything there is nothing in Europe as coherent as the offerings by Amazon, Google or Microsoft. And there should be.

I haven't used it much but the point was some far right Musk fanboi asserting Nazis were socialist when even Grok, ostensibly under the thumb of Musk, doesn't pretend they are.

That said I wouldn't trust it as an AI and there are plenty of other free AIs to choose from if you want that kind of thing. Install ollama and you can even download and run a bunch offline.

I engaged with one of his idiot followers who proclaimed Nazis were socialists. I suggested he run that theory by Grok if he was so certain.

I loved his whining a few weeks back that he hadn't "physically harmed" anybody and the implication that all the haters were big meanies. Meanwhile his minions at his direction were slashing programs that were saving people's lives through their existence - health, welfare, medical research, disease prevention, pollution & air quality, road safety, food aid etc.

So did he straight up murder people? No, he did it indirectly. But he may as well have. Thousands and thousands of people will die because of him. But let's all feel sorry for the billionaire douchebag who never cared about anyone else once in his entire life.

Drones definitely seems like a viable attack vector especially on a golf course. I wonder how they could even mitigate unless they had people constantly patrolling with jamming devices

That golf course existed before Trump, since 1906 and should exist after him. But while he owns it, Scotland should put the priority its own citizens ahead of this whiny ass removed - build wind farms, impose conservation orders, reject planning applications, deny US private / military flights to any airport anywhere close, And audit the ever living fuck out of the course. After all, it is owned by a convicted fraudster so who knows how the books are being cooked.

And you thought Alex Garland's Civil War movie was fiction.

If you need to use AI, be aware that there are MANY free models and training options. No reason to be locked into proprietary service.

I saw the video and I have two points:

  1. Yes it plays like an infomercial for lidar. So take that portion with some skepticism. I can think of some issues exclusive to lidar like 2+ lidar cars blinding each other which needs to be solved, e.g. some kind of light pattern encoding to mask out unwanted signals.
  2. It absolutely 100% demonstrates the issue with camera-only technology in Tesla vehicles.

Teslas used to have cameras + radar but they cheaped out and removed the radar. I think it would have passed all the tests if they still had the front facing radar but they don't. The problem with cameras alone is obvious - they can't see what they can't see and probably don't have an innate sense to slow down if there is rain, fog, ice or whatever else that might cause a human to.

Stick to the showrooms and dealers. The victims in Las Vegas was just owners who brought their cars in to be fixed.

I do not believe for a second that communications within the Whitehouse are inadequate, or if they were, could not be solved in a secure manner. Slapping a Starlink in a few places sounds like an invitation to backdoor all communications. Not only that, it is an invitation to sidestep obligations to preserve government records.
