for those who don't know, this futurama was inspired by real life. it is really sad story:

Imagine being an agricultural scientist, known as the pre-eminent agricultural engineer of the entire country, and being best remembered for how much your dog loved you! Be that good to your pets everybody, you are everything to them.

This dog is the reason Helen Keller brought the first Akita to the US, and now I'm not happy anymore. I don't know a single Akita owned by somebody that is responsible enough for the breed and the dogs are all shitheads because of it. It's what we pin on pitbulls and their owners, except in my (somewhat extensive, worked at a kennel 2 years, own a dog and interact with a handful of local akitas) experience, it's pretty much breed universal. These are the epitome of working dogs and do not seem to handle a chill lifestyle well at all.

Very similar tale. Dogs are amazing.

Dogs can't be amazing; that's blatant propaganda. If they were amazing, I'd want another canine friend and I can't handle losing one right now.

Sorry for your loss. I recently lost a friend too. Not mine but I still loved her.

Thank you. It's been a few years. I'm okay but, much as I miss having a dog in my life, I don't think getting another one right now would be a good idea for them or me. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.

Honestly, same. I lost my own in 2019 and I'm still not ready. I know I'll get another but the time will have to be right.

I have a kid who turns seven very soon. They remember some of our previous dogs, but very vaguely. I'm waiting for them to ask for a dog, then I'll decide.

I also have three cats. Two of them are around fifteen years old. I'm going to have a lot of processing to do distressingly soon.

That’s how we ended up getting a second dog when our turned 10.

She’s 12 now and the other puppy is 2 and a total insane whirlwind of fur. So not we have to vacuum 2-3 times a week of we don’t want hair everywhere, and even then it’s everywhere anyways.

It's funny, because I remember playing Persona 5 and seeing that statue in Shibuya Square every time I'm running to the train.

And then I visit Tokyo and there it is. Like getting to meet a celebrity IRL. Except it's a statue. And there's a someone next to it with an Imperial Japanese flag screaming fascist shit in Japanese. And at the crosswalk there was a guy with his dick out flashing people.

    Japan is a magical place.
