Monthly users sit at around 3.8 billion [3.8 is not true most likely, bogus source]. Chatgpt alone has a billion weekly users. US wise, about 50% of the population uses it.

We are maybe a month away from flyers being indistinguishable from the real thing and I think most people don't really care already. The tech is simply getting better way faster than anyone expected.
We can talk about the very real downsides and all, especially when it comes to big AI, job loss, market capture and the absolute insanity that comes with building datacenters in Arizona, but public sentiment isn't against it, just the media.
