That's exactly the one I was thinking of. It was extremely influential on TV and pop culture, in the same way that Star Wars was for film.

Jurassic Park also landed somewhere in there. Lord of the Rings is hard to say where it exists because the book to movie gap

it helps they are pretty much legacy franchises that had an original story. MCU is not that, disney tries too hard to tie them all into a smorgasbord shows. i think the pre-disney marvel shows were much better(the ones that were cancelled by disney because of the merger).

I was about to bring up those as well. The next closest that didn't really hit the "spin-off" level was the hunger games, but definately could.
