Hey there, which social and economical issues are you interested in? I'm working on a Wikipedia tool that lets you find Sociology and Science articles, you can see an example over at https://sciencefind.org/categories/sociological_theories_category.php - if there is a category you're interested in let me know and I'll add it. Otherwise, wikipedia has some portals, such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Society - here is the portal overview: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Contents/Portals
As always, nowadays one source in the web isn't enough for an deeper research, with or without AI. You find the whole human knowledge in the web, but hidden between 80% BS, conspiranoic sites, stupid influencers, cat images/vids, porn, hentai and other crap. Wikipedia is fine, but also with a grain of salt, good to take also a look on the sources of it's articles, apart there are also dozends of Wikipedia alternatives, which, depending of the theme are also good for certain researches.
Apart of this it's also recommend to take a look on websites, like Wolphram Alpha, publications of universities and scientific centers.
I read a combination of trending, on this day in history, and “article of the day” articles which I think gives a well rounded view of the world. Social and economic issues is a huge variety of topics so it’s hard to suggest individual things for you to read.
