Fuuuuuuuck this guy. In the spirit of his own political strategy, for every Schumer we lose, we will pick up an El-Sayed or Mamdani. The change cannot happen fast enough.

As long as you have people like Chuck in charge of the Democrats you'll never see anything meaningful happen. That they fight tooth and nail against the DSA is also telling.

The MAGA comedy act of Schmuck & Jeffries have been on the stage long enough, and nobody has found them entertaining at all. Time to give them the hook, and get some real talent on the stage.

The rise, and re-rise, of MAGA is 50% their fault, and they haven't done one single thing to demonstrate that they deserve a THIRD chance to protect us from the MAGA Monsters. Both of them are entirely useless, and Schmuck is even worse than Jeffries, if that's even possible.

All this corrupt old fuck cares about is Israel and Insider Trading. He has never done one single thing to advance a true Democratic agenda, or protect this nation from being conquered by Treasonous Pedophiles.

When this is all over, and we are putting MAGA Traitors in front of a tribunal, Schmuck & Jeffries need to be heavily investigated, too, and we'll probably find out they were collaborating all along.

I've already contacted my senators twice to voice my hope that they don't vote for the gerontocracy. I also contacted Schumer's office to ask him to retire, for the sake of our country. Not that I think it'll do much, but it's something.

Traitors to whom? Their primary allegiance was always to the capitalists.

They're supposed to be beholden to their constituency. Allegiance to their campaign contributors and to schemes to enrich them personally is literally corruption.

Granted privileging property owners over the working class is baked into the Constitution of the United States, but we've had multiple reckonings during which we collectively reaffirmed we want our society to be a pluralistic liberal democracy. And the capitalists curse and swear vengeance every time.

(And, as Marx predicted in Das Kapital the capitalists immediately look to recapturing government institutions. It's what they do. And so far we've failed to adequately punish them when they are caught trying.)

(Also, this phenomenon isn't unique to the US. After rights in France were established in the Napoleonic Code, they were rolled back during the Bourbon Restoration, requiring a second revolution and a lot more piled heads. The French public began to realize even good kings are arbitrarily followed by tyrannical kings.)

At this point the US public is beginning to understand what's at stake, why we need independent regulatory bodies, why rule of law has to apply to everyone, that capital never sleeps. And more of the Democratic party is tired of corporate shills. (More identify as moderate than progressive, but the platform they want is progressive. UHC is super popular.)

On the other hand, capitalists come better prepared with higher tech every time. The MAGA propaganda machine is very powerful and uses proven brainwashing techniques. And we don't have a cure for that.

Thank you for recognizing this. So many people don't get that capitalism and the wealthy ruling class are literally baked into the Constitution. The US government was created with the express purpose of preventing the masses any real say in governance.

we've had multiple reckonings during which we collectively reaffirmed we want our society to be a pluralistic liberal democracy.

I think you mean the wealthy have produced some good propaganda that makes people feel this way. Unless you have some good examples? The one I always think about is the great depression where a ton of people starved to death and even by WWII around a quarter of all men were rejected for service because of a decade + of malnourishment. No revolution, just a new deal from the wealthy that was eventually backpedaled because blacks.

At this point the US public is beginning to understand what's at stake,

I like you optimism here, but I don't share it nor do I think it is objectively true unfortunately.

proven brainwashing techniques. And we don't have a cure for that.

There is no cure for a criminal act. We need a real bill of rights that directly spells out that politicians will NOT use psychology to manipulate people. Scapegoating, negging, gaslighting, etc must all be strictly banned and anyone using this rhetoric forever banished from leadership. Until then, might as well bleat really loudly for all the good it will do.

Mostly we heckle the people saying you shouldn't vote, or should vote 3rd party, when the ubernazis are closer than ever to total domination. I think most people are of the opinion that, between actual elections, everything possible should be done to get better nominations and replace the old guard democrats.

Him and half of our leaders. They're addicted to the power and won't leave it. It's just one reason you know corruption is rampant. These people don't want to retire despite having a guaranteed paycheck and healthcare for the rest of their lives.

Yeah they are welfare queens who just sit and collect paychecks. Then they vote to ban welfare for the poor and disabled. Cuck Shumer like his cronies on both sides of the aisle take from Americans and receive buyouts and bribes from Oligarchs.

What's funny about power is usually when you have power, you do something with it. You get high off the authority you wield.

What have these old fucks done with their power other than just taking in tax payer money to line their own pocke......

    Nevermind.

I've always despised Chuck; 40 years in office and counting.

They're not going away unless they die. Wake up

Look at Mitch McConnell, Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi, Trump.

When this country was founded, there was no way to conceive that we'd live for 80+ and people would hold an office for their entire life, accumulating treasures like Smaug

(about 80% of R&D voters want term and age limits, about as much as want universal healthcare and higher minimum wage. it's nice to want things)

    Fundraiser-in-chief

Senate Majority Leader isn't House Speaker. You command little procedural power and have no real tools to discipline rogue Senators.

The post is largely just an award for sucking up the most private money and distributing it to friendly Senators during tight reelections. The real power of the office is to throw $30M into a Michigan primary on behalf of your friends in Israel.

Procedural power over nominations and when to vote on bills is absolutely huge and can shape the nation as a certain vegetating turtle has shown over his career.

Procedural power over nominations and when to vote on bills

Is set by the Senate Committee Chairs, not the Senate Majority Leader. The Judiciary Chair holds significantly more power over SC nominees than Schumer, which is why Dick Durbin holds so much clout within the party and John Cornyn losing his primary was such a big deal within the GOP.

The Judiciary Committee also happens to be a Whose Who of People Planning to Run For President.

The more progressives want him to step aside, the more incentives capital interests will offer him to doggedly remain in the way.

That being said, he's up for re-election in 2028, isn't very popular in New York (or with democrat voters in general), and it probably won't make much of a difference if he stays on as majority leader while Trump is in office.

Chuck Schumer's seat was won January 2025 and he won't be up for another election until 2028, so this post is essentially useless for all purposes except attacking the party as a whole before the 2026 midterm elections.

This post is about Chuck's role as Senate leader specifically, not as a senator. When the new congress is in season next year, he intends to continue to be the chief spokesperson of the Democratic party.

Not useless per se, but the position is elected by the other senators within the party, not by the people. So if you don't want him representing the Democratic party to the White House and the Senate, you should start calling your representatives and complaining now.
