How do we fit CIA/NED/FBI/FED interference in this model?

How do we fit CIA/NED/FBI/FED interference in this model?

New here! And already this community feels so much nicer than lemmy.ml, I might stick around here a lot more.
So I was in a lecture and there were some guys in front of me. They looked back at my fanny pack which has a communist sticker on it, and grinned to themselves about it. I made eye contact with them. You could tell they were looking down on me. I don't know why they couldn't be normal about it and just disagree without making themselves feel superior. It triggered my self esteem issues a lot and I wish I said something.
What I've gotten from some peers, other than puzzlement, is at times what I think is malevolent curiosity, oughtright dismissal, or being made fun of (like this one blond shitlib of the overachiever type I know).
I think the best way to deal with these types of people is to shoot them down, one way or another. Dismiss them, bore them to death, or make them embaressed that they even thought of doing what they did.
But that's what we want to do, and sometimes we can't. For now it's best not to let them get to you, so that you can hopefully get back at them.
I'm nervous.
I should just post the GoFundMe soon.
Emergency and everything.
I think it might be time to take a break from the site lol
I've been doing kinda badly mentally lately with life shit and THAT thread (not to vaguepost but i think we all know the one) genuinely had made me feel the need to take a step back and focus on my fitness and reading routines and stop doomscrolling.
Didn't think it was possible to see genuine dogpiling and bullying on this instance but here we are.
Take your time comrade. mental health is more important than any site.
I feel you. Apparently rule 3 goes out the window when people believe something was created with AI. Like do people not get the implications of how easily serious conversations can be derailed if people can just claim AI and poison the well about whatever was said. It's unprincipled, reactionary behavior. Wrestling with ideas rather than individuals is pragmatism in the context of relative anonymity online, not just about being friendly; we can struggle over an analysis regardless of who or where it came from. If we have to know where it came from in order to do so, internet discussion becomes limited to only discussing information direct from public sources.
That said, people shouldn't take everything they see on the internet at face value, including from public sources. Even liberals would probably agree on that one. But there is also never going to be a magic formula or intuition or vibe check for discerning when you're being deceived. Only careful investigation can consistently and reliably reveal that and it's simply impractical to be thorough with everything posted online, so you have to sort of read in a fixed state of one eyebrow raised without making your head hurt and your tone hostile.
Hey, do the peeps here know how to get actually accurate news on the Russia-Ukraine War? All I can find is a bunch of Western cope about how Ukraine is winning.
https://maratkhairullin.substack.com/ and https://substack.com/@zinderneufog for regular updates about the situation on the ground
The Greater Eurasia Podcast is pretty good for having lots of expert guests on to talk about it and geopolitics at large, but you do still need to remain a bit critical; Glenn Diesen has lots of different types of guests on and some of them have more to learn from than others lol. Imperfect but I still tune in regularly.
I usually check Alexander Mercouris. He's pretty pro-russian but so is reality. He tries to be evidence based in his assessment. He is british and a liberal but still manages to be a half decent human and not half bad at reporting. But I always listen at 2x speed because he talks so bloody slow.
Military Summit Summary channel on YouTube
Is that the right name? I see one that is similar but different (Military Summary is the name)
Sorry I'm a little overstimulated today so my mind doesn't work the way it should. It's Military Summary
I go with most of my news needs to aljazeera. When it's playing on the TV in the background occasionally they usually have quite decent coverage on this.
I was really hopping that r/spacexbets wasn't another liberal echochamber, but alas.
“The bourgeoisie of the whole world, which looks complacently upon the wholesale massacre after the battle, is convulsed by horror at the desecration of brick and mortar!” ― Karl Marx, The Civil War in France
Kind of a very relevant quote.
I know Nolan's Batman is fascist propaganda, but I find it funny that Afred told a whole story about a man robbing and throwing away the precious stones that the British (Alfred included) were gonna use to bribe his tribe leaders.
Then Alfred's whole conclusion was that man was simply doing it for no rhyme or reason, just to "watch the whole world burn". And also "oh, and we burned the forest down to catch him."
And Bruce doesn't even question it??
Nolan Batman movies are textbook examples of gaslighting.
Everyone says they're good but then you sit down and watch one and it's goofball city for 2 hrs.
Saw a recent review roasting The Dark Knight and it was both poignant and funny.
I think The Dark Knight is a shitty attempt at a Christ allegory by Nolan.
Harvey Dent was the "symbol" of the city (why the hell would a city have a person as a symbol in the first place), who was corrupted by the "devil" (Joker), then he committed evil by murdering people.
So good "Christ" (Batman) took the blame for Harvey's evils so city could be redeemed of crime (through extended powers to the police ofc)
Wow, I just looked up the clip cause it's been so long since I watched that scene and WTF even is that anecdote. Colonizer like, "We tried to bribe this guy into being a comprador and he didn't go for it??? Guess he wants to watch the world burn. He is forcing me to do this. Lights forest on fire."
It also adds a weird dimension to Alfred's character that raises a lot of questions. Was he working for British intelligence back then? Why would he go from that to being a butler for some billionaire?
Was he working for British intelligence back then?
In most iterations, yes. Afred is almost always an ex-British intelligence agent.
Why would he go from that to being a butler for some billionaire?
Working for billionaires -> Working for the billionaire (the richest one).
Tbf, I wouldn't be surprised if he was working for the Waynes to keep tabs on them in behalf of the British intelligence. Afred also knew how to get Batman's gadgets from other markets without getting government attention, which is sus af.
