Obama is goading Trump to say the N-word on stage before the election.

"Nobody...(They tell me these things) Says the N word better than me. I'm from Queens so I know "the hood", ya know? They love me there, they do... I have lots of black friends and 'Don,' they say, 'Don, you got a free pass!' A free pass, how 'bout that, eh?"

    🙄

That would probably increase his approval rating

Doubt it. While the racism was a really fun distraction, life has gotten bad enough for most racist white people to just become disaffected. Many of them who voted for Trump 2 years ago will just stay home now.

On the other hand, saying the N word on camera would very likely activate even more black voters. Due to Dobbs and other disenfranchisement efforts, that demographic is turning out in record numbers already. Hearing the president confirm how racist his party is with a single word could probably get the most uninformed people to head to the polls.

The GOP is scared of Trump's N-word rants, they kept Apprentice out takes under wraps with Mark Burnett:

Bill Pruitt (May 2024): Former Apprentice producer Bill Pruitt wrote an essay in Slate stating that during the first season in 2004, Trump was recorded on camera questioning whether America would "buy a n— winning" when discussing Black finalist Kwame Jackson. Pruitt claimed the conversation took place in a boardroom in front of other staffers

Omarosa Manigault Newman (2018): In her memoir Unhinged, former Apprentice contestant and White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman claimed she was told by multiple sources that outtake recordings existed of Trump using the slur during the show's first season.

    Also witnessed by Tom Arnold.

So with a little more poking and a little dementia sprinkled on top, we could hear the N-bomb before Tuesday.

Trump has never been to a Cheesecake Factory. Far too refined for his tastes.

I was thinking about how much harder the joke would have hit if he chose Shenanigans. The place with all the goofy shit on the wall and the mozzarella sticks

If you have to defend a joke being made at your expense you’re already swinging from your back foot.

Trump has hated Obama for 20 years. I am convinced Obama's mockery of him at that correspondents' dinner blew a fuse, and he's never gotten over it. Obama Derangement Syndrome.

I hope the next President gets rid of all of that gold crap, reminds me of of the French royal family. Not sure what that style is but it's revolting.

The style is late 20th century authoritarian. They all do it.

Remember when tyrants and warlords had class? Trump has less class than the literal historical Attila the Hun.

When this [toasting] ceremony was over the cup-bearers retired, and tables, large enough for three or four, or even more, to sit at, were placed next the table of Attila, so that each could take of the food on the dishes without leaving his seat. The attendant of Attila first entered with a dish full of meat, and behind him came the other attendants with bread and viands, which they laid on the tables. A luxurious meal, served on silver plate, had been made ready for us and the barbarian guests, but Attila ate nothing but meat on a wooden trencher. In everything else, too, he showed himself temperate; his cup was of wood, while to the guests were given goblets of gold and silver.

Attila gave his guests and followers the best he had. He showered his followers with luxury of every kind imaginable. Imagine walking into a grand banquet hall. You see dozens of barbarian warriors eating off gold and silver plates, drinking from golden cups, decked in fine silks and jewelry of all kinds. At the center of the room sits a lone man, dressed in simple furs, eating off a wooden plate, drinking out of an old wooden cup. That was Atilla.

I am pretty sure it is just shitty craft-store gold paint. My family and I were in DC for a short visit a couple months ago and I could see gold coloring on light fixtures and other places which seemed so out of place, I am certain some boot-licking cretin in the National Parks dept arranged to have it applied to appeal to our Dear Leader. But yeah, I am thinking we will need a giant roll-away dumpster at the White House to handle the clean-up when he is finally gone.

I hope they get rid of it too. I think it is supposed to evoke a kind of baroque/rococo type of style.

    As put here,

Philosophes like Voltaire criticized Rococo because it was evidence to the selfish privileges of the nobility. Rococo dwells on the aristocracy's culture of luxury and excess which was deemed a disrespect to the suffering of most people in France.

He was used to the Clinton's pretending he was their friend and expected the same from Obama.

It's not so much that he hates Obama, he envies him. That's what he wants to be, which is why he fawns over people like Mamdani now.

As Jon Stewart pointed out, it's funny that they're all upset about the Cheesecake Factory part of the joke and not the Saddam Hussein part.

I feel like he kind of missed the point of the republican counterattack here.

They want Obama to come off as elitist and out of touch, so they try to spin it as him looking down on regular people who go to Cheesecake Factory.

Which requires some mental gymnastics, but that's clearly why they ignore the Hussein part.

See, if they really felt like the Cheesecake Factory was truly an example of good interior design they wouldn’t get upset about it. They’d just go “what are you talking about?” and move along. But because they got pissed it reveals that they also feel the Cheesecake Factory is tacky.

It’s not an insult if you don’t find it insulting.

Also, notice that none of them are saying anything about Cheesecake Factory from a design standpoint. Not one word attempting to defend their aesthetic lol

I think everyone in his orbit is just running roughshod over his dementia and tacky decorations are all he really has.

Sounds like that's what happened to Saddam Hussein too, but he was paranoid not dementia-anoid.

Why are none of them saying anything about the Sadam Hussein comparison? They’re all mad about what he said and they didn’t even seem to notice the bit of it that was actually intended to be the insult.

If he said Saddam Hussain's Palace, it would have been a compliment. The insult is that it's chain-store tacky.

    You bet it did.

And little suck-ups like Bessent are eating at the restaurant to prove to their boss how loyal they are.
