wow. did a ctrl-f and firefly did not come up. Normally I find the first person to say firefly and reply to it. guess im that guy today. anyway. yeah. im one of those firefly folks. firefly for tv and lotr for movies.

• The Wire (truly incredible TV, maybe the best Shakespeare ever told through Baltimore drug trade)

• True Detective (wish I could go back and experience watching this for the first time again so bad)

Cowboy Bebop (the animated ver) - Just absolute cinema the whole time. Never watched the live action, probably never will. Soundtrack goes so hard and the voice acting in both English and Japanese are unparalleled imo. Such an imaginative and realistic depiction of the future, especially for the time. Thanks a million to Adult Swim for introducing me to my fav show of all time.

The Expanse, Fringe, Malcolm in the Middle, Archer, GITS SAC, off the top of my head.

Battlestar Galactica ( the newer one)

Babylon 5 — just the perfect scifi show for me with a five-season story arc that was planned from the beginning.

Others: Farscape, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dark, The West Wing, Community, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power

I always struggle to name one best thing at anything. Best movie? IDK, plenty of them are great, can't say which is the best. Favourite colour? Depends on context. Best car? Different each week, as my mood swings. But if I had to pick one tv show and crown it the best, it would be:

Red Dwarf

Hands down the most viewed thing for me. That absurd British humor just clicks with me, just as Monty Python or Black Adder or Black Books did. I used to watch it to fall asleep for years, especially at the college. It was many years ago but I still remember a lot of replicas word by word.

As with movies, foods, music, etc. my "favorites" always shift around depending on my mood, but just now off the top of my head:

• Star Trek TNG
• Mystery Science Theater 3000 (which is coming back again, again!)
• Monty Python's Flying Circus
• Bob's Burgers
• Ghosts (the US version)

Mike Judge's Silicon Valley. The best representation of actual computer nerds I've ever seen.

Runner up: The Wire

I think Trailer Park Boys up to the end of the Swayze Express arc

Twin Peaks. It's one of the most original shows I've seen, and I think it manages to strike a perfect balance between mystery, drama, comedy, and general quirkiness. The third season in particular is a goddamn masterpiece imo. Also Dale Cooper has to be one of my all time favorite characters. It's definitely not everyone's cup of coffee though

Mr. Robot. I’m super into the sometimes cheesy “fuck society” mentality. And everything that happens in that show either could or has already happened in reality.

There will probably be a lot of recommendations for Breaking Bad, The Wire, The Sopranos, etc., and they're all great.

One that tends to fly under the radar is The Americans, about a family of Soviet spies under deep cover in suburban DC. A top FBI counter-espionage agent moves in across the street, and they become close friends.

Great writing, acting, everything. One of the very best finales I've ever seen.

Tough call. Absolutely depends on mood but right now I’d say Bojack Horseman. One of the few shows that got better all way through and ended at exactly the right time.

All because of their fantastic comedy writing: nuanced, layered jokes, with satisfying stories, characters and plots which leads to endless rewatchability.

• Atlanta

For being weird experimental extremely well written comedies. Rick and Morty's early seasons might make it on this list but I haven't gone back in a while.

• Breaking Bad
• The Expanse

For being long serious satisfying dramas with great characters and writing.

• Dark

Get a special shout-out for being one of the only mystery box shows I've ever seen that sticks the landing.

• Parks and Rec
• 30 Rock
• The Office

All get shout outs for being great comedies, if not quite at the tier of the above.

all 3 stargate series. oldtrek mostly, nutrek is just not even close, other than prodigy and lower decks, snw i find its still not good considering what other people are saying. use a different showrunner.

maybe spn although its through comprehensive videos of the seasons which fans graciously posted on youtube, mostly s1-5. inuyasha, not yashime or whatever it is, because fans made it weird, by making it a grooming situation rin+ sesshomaru. blue gender, Fullmetal alchemist, the og series. the new one is somewhat all over place. pre-disney takeover of marvel shows. gifted, runaways, AOS.

grimm might be up someones alley, it has a spn spin to it, and it ended as it should, and not dragged on forever like with supernatural.

a short series, DAMAGES, with glenn close, if you ignore the network changes that included sex scences for some reason.

medical drama: House, ER just not the last few seasons, which one of the actors became the showrunner of pitt. not any of those new ones with nobody actors i keep seeing on youtube.

bio shows, like monsters inside me.

netflix original: CASTLEVANIa, the first series one. the 2nd one is currently in limbo, as netflix sees which shows to cancel.

sandman and blood of zeus if they hadnt rushed to cancelled these series.

Better call Saul. It was the show breaking bad tried to be.

The Wire and M*A*S*H

Always Farscape.

The Good Place, basically perfect television.

Fringe, because I find it infinitely rewatchable.

Probably Deadwood.

I like the complexity of the characters - nobody’s truly good, nobody’s truly bad.

I like the how some of the experiences in the show are so universal and some are so peculiar to that time and place.

The performances are all incredible.

I was completely taken with it and still am.

Watching King of the hill as an adult is a wholenew world

Community, followed by Fringe and then Justified.

Community is my ideal sitcom: weird, experimental, hilarious, and emotional. It was my comfort show for a very long time. My ringtone comes from that show, Professor Professorson's conspiracy theory ringtone. (Dun dun dunnnnnn)

Fringe is my ideal sci-fi show: weird, far reaching, and is allowed to reach its end.

Justified is my ideal cop show: funny and dark, with a great supporting cast.

Gonna go with something differrent here

Adventure Times

Quite long running series that starts super silly but actually does explain all the weirdness that you see from the beginning over its runtime. You think its just a cute strange setting with candy people, some magic and a planet half destroyed that looks a bit like Earth. But there's a whole story behind it and it slowly unfolds more and more over the seasons.

This covers a few different genres:

• Arrested Development: I stg it gets funnier each time I watch. Except the Netflix seasons. Those suck.
• Love After Lockup: This is peak reality TV. It's messy and complicated and absolutely addicting.
• Xena Warrior Princess: I'm bi. Enough said.

I was gonna say Firefly. "Objects in Space" is amazing.

But it's Ted Lasso, since at least once in every episode it gives me some happy or sad feels and I think we all need to feel the feels.
