I wonder how many national landmarks will be destroyed by the end of Trump's regime. Does he know the statue of liberty is an immigrant?

Thank you Mike Lee for being such an outspoken coward.

However now when President Ocasio-Cortez demolishes the Arch De Treason, we won't need Congress's approval.

Theyll push through legislation to prevent her from doing anything as it cosses her mind

If her legacy is being so woke that Congress finally reined in the power of the presidency that's a pretty good legacy IMO.

I love the thought but I worry what would actually happen is a Supreme Court case saying she can't do anything for bullshit reasons that all miraculously vanish the second a Republican gets elected

Presidential power overriding Congress is a problem, but the first thing that needs to be taken care of is breaking the Republican party because otherwise no other reforms are going to stick

Imagine wanting to demolish a memorial dedicated to a dead president because you aren't allowed to steal it by renaming it after yourself.

Maybe if Trump was better at taking a bullet, he could have things named after him too.

After he dies, I wouldn't mind a toxic waste dump to be named after him. Maybe if Ukraine agrees the Chernobyl sarcophagus could be branded with a big gaudy "TRUMP" logo.

No a sewage treatment plant would be more apt.

You mean like he already did with part of the White House? I'm sure this will work. This is more of the "if we pass a law, maybe the criminals will stop doing it". Not without actual consequences when they do.

Not a reason to not forbid it though.

A lot of what the establishment Democrats do is offer legitimacy to the institutions and process that allow Fascism to maintain its power.

It's not that "voting to condemn" is a bad action in itself. It's that the Democratic party is only defending the "process" of democracy. They are continuing to play the game by the rules, condemn the cheating, but do nothing to stop the cheater. After awhile, it results in the public perception of "the process" as still functioning when in reality it is not.

And, on the rare occasion that the Republican party "plays by the rules" the Democrats are the first to point to "reasonable Republicans"

Thing is, I don’t really care about the Kennedy center. I do care about this fucking asshole acting like he owns the entire city and can remodel it with his tacky aesthetic at will. Dude needs to be stopped, like now.. This shit is fucking insane and I’m in shock every day that people have no desire to speak about any of this. When you try, you are labeled as disruptive or intolerant (I am intolerant of intolerance to be fair).

Sometimes upcoming elections knocks sense into politicians. Mike Lee must not be up for reelection in this upcoming one.

Refreshing to see how Congress keep voting to eviscerate its own power, while handing over illegitimate power to the executive to unilaterally declare wars and demolish national monuments, no?
