Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

As it is unlikely to get Vitamin A poisoning from food, I assume would have to take too many supplements (alot of which are synthetic). Refuse to put this stuff in your body, but uses this other stuff instead. SMDH

Or maybe they are dining solely on polar bear liver 24/7

[–] Tinidril@midwest.social 25 points 4 days ago (1 children)

You don't understand. Vitamin A isn't a chemical. /s

[–] Wytch@lemmy.zip 11 points 4 days ago

Hey we've been taking vitamins for decades now, they've been proven safe!

Wait

[–] NoxAstrum@lemmy.ca 43 points 5 days ago (4 children)

It's funny how not knowing the details of an issue can cause problems, eh? It's almost like we need to have some people around, who spend a lot of time learning about how the body works, and then can tell us the best ways to go about keeping ourselves healthy. We could give them a name even. How about doctors?

Nah, that's just crazy.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

Im just fine with my fortune teller, thanks.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 days ago (2 children)

tbf, some of these people probably can't afford to see a real doctor.

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago

Tbf, the federal government (RFK) is actually encouraging people to do this.

I know it's not good for everything. But for anyone that doesn't know, Teladoc is $89/visit without insurance and has a video call option. So they can get you medication/treatment for just about any issue. They just can't prescribe controlled substances.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

No, we should all Do yOuR oWn rEsEaRcH. And by research, I mean, following the likes of Bobby Brainworm, donvict, and random social media influencers peddling bullshit and duckfaces.

[–] Freshparsnip@lemm.ee 7 points 3 days ago

Boy can you imagine if congress was stupid enough to appoint an anti-vax nutjob who dumps bear carcasses in Central Park to be in charge if health

[–] NABDad@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

It seems odd to me that they refer to the number of children treated as "fewer than 10".

Why can't they say how many?

Crazy idea here. Maybe listen to your doctor, not the people on social media or cable news who are chasing engagement?

Yes, but it's not like low-info people won't see someone in that role say something and then think he is trustworthy.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

I said when Bobby Brainworms was confirmed that he might end up killing more people than even donvict did in his first term - remember, donvict killed more Americans than any other person in history already. Having a complete fraud and scam artist like Bobby Brainworms in charge is going to lead lots of low-info people to do very, very stupid things. If he causes herd immunity to drop even further, it's going to be bad, possibly worse than the death count donvict did the first term....and that's without something catastrophic like bird flu jumping human to human....

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Who are these fucks? I will call fucking CPS daily on these bastards!

[–] masterofn001@lemmy.ca 10 points 4 days ago

Republicans

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

I'd like to call CPS on that motherfucker Bobby Brainworm if I had the least notion that they'd do anything.

[–] thesohoriots@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Swapping this bullshit over here for that bullshit over there so fast it’s a dead kid three-card monte

[–] BrokenGlepnir@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago

If these parents had only just watched episode 1 of Ameku MD: Doctor Detective, streaming now, they would have known that vitamin A toxicity is serious.

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

This country is full up with fucking idiots.

[–] NimdaQA@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Hypervitaminosis A can literally result in Coma or Death.

[–] thallamabond@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

Don't forget desquamation (skin peeling)!

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

Something something rabbits?

[–] Nastybutler@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

In Texas, you say

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

Bobby Brainworm in charge of the health department is about as logical as watching "On Golden Pond" to learn how to rebuild an engine transmission.

Fucking retarded.
