Once my dog pissed on a sheet and I threw it in the machine without even rinsing it.

Everything I washed for the next week smelled like dog piss.

There's only so much piss a washing machine can take.

That sounds like a washing machine issue to me.

Absolutely. If my washing machine can handle a full load of pissy cloth diapers every night, it should definitely be able to handle one sheet with dog piss on it.

Yes and no. Washing machines only have the water level go so high for maximum fill loads. it's honestly a disappointing level. You'd think they would have the capacity to fill water to the top of the drum, but in my experience they don't. (Maybe old models do?) If you overfill your washer, it might not be able to clean off all the piss.

HAHA! PARENT! Your senses have been dulled by the effluence generated by your loin-goblins, you don't even realize.... you can't smell the horrors they generate and now all your clothing bears the burden of their stench!

parenting is an adventure. use these experiences to justify future decisions on how late they can stay out and what college you'll send them to.

Why do we even wash our clothes? Just to dirty them again? Life is a prison.

I'm not wasting perfectly good drinking piss just to wash some clothes

To get the proper drinking experience, make sure to let it age in your bladder for at least a couple of hours. If you're not going to age it properly then might as well use it for the washing machine.

The water can only dilute dirty stuff so much. Shouldn't you rinse any items that are too dirty through running water first before throwing it into the washing machine?

You have to let it age iirc, something to do with urea and ammonia

When our bodies metabolize protein they produce ammonia which is toxic to us, so our liver combines it into urea which is ~20X less toxic in our bloodstream (fish don't do this because they can always pee the ammonia out their gills)

Urea of course breaks down into ammonia, which is alkaline and polar. It does a decent job of dissolving fat and grease.

Its also why i buy unscented ammonia and add about a cup or so to my laundry (especially for bedding) to help extract even more oils from it. It seems to work quite well and it's cheap.

    Reddit has changed so much.

r/sinkpissed USED to be full ironic posts. "Haha, what if", with no actual sink pissing. Not anymore....

Matured piss was used for washing clothes. Next time bottle it up and use after 2 weeks of fermenting.

I guess you can save one small flush of water with that, so I'd say it's a-okey!

I prefer to do it in the dish washer, since it uses even less water.

Wait was there a legitimate use for piss in the olden days?

Was piss used to wash clothes?

I dont rember if it was water down a hill where human bodies were buried or if piss was collected directly in PISS BUCKETS for washing.

They used to wash clothes down the river from burial ground because the lye mixed with human remains resulted in a natural soap leeching into the ground water/river

The saying "Not even a pot to piss in." doesnt just mean you have nothing, it also refers to the fact you couldnt even make any money because if you had a pot you could sell your urine.

Not sure why I'd want to dirty up my clothes even more before a wash
