There is no path forward for the US unless every single person involved in this is punished.

Same for the boat strikes.

Same for ICE killings and concentration camps.

Yes, I think the US as we knew it is gone. We'll see what happens in November. The fascists will not cede power, so we will see how the country reacts. I'll bet we just accept it and try to live our lives like most people do. We blew it in '24 when we had a legitimate chance.

I hate to say it but the US as we knew it has never existed. It’s always been propaganda to cover up centuries of exactly these kinds of atrocities. The only difference now is the people running the show have decided they no longer need to hide behind a mask of altruism.

I think it is significantly worse now than it has been in recent times. Both ethically and economically. The US government has been corrupt and committed atrocities around the world, but also put forth an effort to run a society. They aren't doing that anymore and are more corrupt now than I thought was possible without causing public revolt.

  • Honestly, I have a truly biblical amount of anger at the DNC for being such consummate imbeciles and yet again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It was basically a slam dunk… and fucking Harris and her campaign and the DNC and the fuckwit political consultants just proceeded to drill a three-pointer from half-court into their own basket.

Turns out that people won’t show up for you if they’re just kinda angry at the status quo, and your pitch is “it’ll be more of the same”.

We didn't blow it, trump and musk rigged the election and admitted to it on live TV. The math backs it up, but the media won't report on it because they're part of the coup too.

I disagree. The entire system failed. Your leaders blew it when Jan 6 had no consequences. You can't let a coup attempt go unpunished, because that will only embolden them.

Remember when we believed that "checks and balances" was a real thing. Turns out that, like the Easter Bunny, the evidence of it ever existing is highly circumstantial.

They’re obviously going to try some shit this election but I don’t think they’re going to go as hard this year as they will in ‘28. Trump doesn’t seem to really care if they lose the House because he probably plans to just ignore anything a Dem house will do anyway. He’s already blaming congressional GOP for losses when it’s almost entirely his admins policies sinking them.

The Senate is in play but I think it’s still gonna be GOP because the Senate is inherently fucking bullshit and IF it goes 51/49 to Dems, Fetterman is gonna flip. This is another reason I don’t think they’re gonna put in a lot of effort to sabotage this election. IF we somehow get a 52/48 Dem senate then I’d really expect shit to pop off.

They’re going to push and prod to find weaknesses. They’ll probably give up on the House, get everyone to let their guard down. Then use what they learn this year to really fuck things up in ‘28.

They are already trying to normalize public executions by firing squad. How long till they use it against their "political enemys"

A lot of us aren’t just going to accept it.

If we have to go to civil war, fine, let’s just fucking do it.

I hope it stays peaceful and congress brings legal authority for those who want to defend democracy, but if it doesn’t stay peaceful I know a lot of people that are ready for that.

We’re all fucking tired of being abused.

Sadly I believe the path has already been taken after the tepid response of our institutions towards Trump and Jan 6th.

it’s been a boiling frogs process.

100%. Biden admin fucking dropped the ball big time. I consider him one of the worst Presidents simply for that (there’s also the whole genocide thing…).

Truth is no one is gonna save us but us.

I always like to remind people that in the frog boiling experiment, the only frogs that didn't react to the temperature rising, were the ones who'd had their brains removed. The other tried to escape once the water hit around 25 degrees C.

So they keep unelected officials in office for as long as they're useful, and they'll actually prosecute elected officials for racist reasons. What democracy, USA?

I agree and that would be almost a third of the American population! And the only reason it's not way higher, is that people are beginning to feel the results of his policies themselves. As long as it was "just" everybody else, he still had support from almost half the population.

Fully agree. As an example I work with a 55 year old man who is a hardcore trump supporter. And he says if trump causes the end of the world and we are all being marched into the pits of hell he would make sure to push a liberal in front of himself just to be alive 5 seconds longer and own the libs one last time.

Unfortunately American society is psychopathic, and that breeds psychopaths.
It's so bad that many normal Americans are beginning to have a hard time identifying it, because it's been so normalized throughout society. 3 times and you're out, death penalty, cutting food stamps, lack of healthcare for all. Stand your ground etc, there are dozens of such systemic problems, and it permeates all of American society at all levels, and many Americans have gotten used to it without realizing. And getting used to it without realizing means they have become at a minimum close to psychopaths themselves.

It is very sad, because all the right ideals are present in USA too, they are just not the ones that enough people are voting for.
Become a member of the Democratic party and support David Hogg, he is showing the way forward.

agreed, to a point. I cant help but notice that the centrist DNC is silent in the face of Omar being attacked. Why arent they outraged? Why dont they call for investigations and oversite? She is a dem, but they sure seem to be letting her hang in the wind because she is a progressive.

This is one of the many reasons why a two-party system in a country as large as the US is totally insane.

My dad loved to quote something like “A two-party system may be twice as good as a one-party system, but it's only one party away from a dictatorship.”

DHS better have some ironclad, rock solid probable cause on that, or their ass is grass. I swear our entire government is composed of mentally deficient man-baby thugs.

My bet is they didnt have PC and Omar is about to win an enormous amount of money in court. In a wierd way, its a gift-- free money, and lots of press attention.

I'm sure that will be the intended end result but I feel like they've moved too early.

They should have waited to do all the unpopular things until after they'd already seized control but they don't have the self-control for that.

In terms of attention, this is still playing to their base. There are far too many bootlickers thinking "they wouldn't have done this if there wasn't a good reason, and she looks suspiciously foreign anyway".

It wasn't a judge. DOJ issued the warrant.

Since when can the DOJ execute search warrants without a judge signing off on it?

This isn’t the same kind of situation as an administrative warrant, the type ICE is using, to my knowledge. Even ICE has avoided breaking into people’s properties to arrest people because those administrative warrants don’t cover that.

With the public execution of a Muslim man of Palestinian descent and now this, I fear Israel is trying to bring the genocide to America. I'm worried for Muslim Americans right now and I'm coming from a Mexican American family with family members on green cards who are scared.
